Our Friday night games in the past were not live. I reckon they should do one or two a year. Be nice not to go live against the gate all the time.

A Telstra or SCG blockbuster on a Friday night would be fantastic.
Whilst our TV ratings are nothing to cheer about, live or close to live broadcasts are a must in NSW.

i cant be bothered checking so correct away!!
You're correct. Neither Sydney or Brisbane have had a Friday night game due to Channel 9's RL broadcasts.

I am not convinced of that. NSW yes, but Sydney don't always need live feeds of games that are on in Sydney.

Getting people to the game is the biggest issue. Not many non-afl people become AFL fans just from watching AFL on television.

Accoridng to the Swans magazine the draw for Elimination Finals Week 1 Team 5 v team 8 (team 5 host the match)
Team 6 v team 7 (team 6 host the match) - so would say if we can finish as high as 6 - we host maybe Freo or West Coast or Essendon or ??????????
We would play at Telstra on the Saturday night.

Swans have asked for Friday night games according to magazine but feel they won't get it - due to broadcasting rights - damn and double damn
            Love those Swans

Due to the AFL contract with the MCG, if we finish in 6th position, we have to rely on 2 melbourne clubs finishing 1, 2, and 5th. If that doesn't happen, and the swans are 6th, we will have to play our home match at the MCG. Due to the AFL needing to play 2 games at the MCG this year.

5th seems guaranteed to Melbourne or Geelong, let's just hope St. Kilda can nab 2nd.

Actually what am I saying - Let's just make the 8 in the first place lol.

Sounds like we are pretty unanimous for a Sydney win tonight... great that means we will lose. (And I thought we would have won tonight )

I'd love to have a Friday night game at the SCG. Go to the pub after work, wander up to the game, it'd be tops. Stupid rugby league.

Well with both Melbourne and Geelong losing, one of them will finish 5th. So now we need to hope St Kilda can finish 1st/2nd to get the home final for finishing 6th (providing we beat Richmond).

                    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

yeah...remember a lot of NSW Swans fans live outside Sydney.....country NSW can be a lot longer way to travel Fri night to a match especially if one works Fri, than the small southern state, so yeah we wanna see out matches live.

If Geeleong finish 5th, wouldnt they want a home final at Skilled Stadium.....meaning we would still have to have ours (if we end up 6th) at MCG

No - Melbourne finals will all be played at MCG (unless there were 4 in which case I think they might use TD). A home final is not a home ground final but a home state final.
