True. Maybe what I was getting at, is that maggots percieve Goldspink in the same way we percieve a maggot.

That is to say, Goldspiks maggotry is orders of magnitude beyond that of even regular maggots.

Maggotry - what a great word.

Everytime there was a controversial decision (for both sides), it seemed that the umpire who would blabber on was Goldspink.

We certainly had the run of the umpires tonight, maybe the bombers should of paid more. I cant believe that the goal umpire didnt pay that goal to the bombers and said Barry touched it. oh well nice to be on the recieving end for a change.

The biggest mind boggler for me was the 50 to Lloyd... I mean, obviously Andrew Schauble is a known thug in the comp so they just wanted to be strict before he got out of hand? It was right in front of me, I paid extra attention to how quickly play on was called after that and it was pretty quick... and it didn't help when Barry was brought down after taking a mark and got jack...
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

It evened out with the Hird snap on the line which was actually over the line before he kicked it.

This is not the place to be magnanimous.

Seriously though, we may have got a greater number of frees, but IMO the umpiring did not favour us.

I think you must have red and white glasses on, if you cant see we got alot of 50/50 decisions today and as I have posted on plenty of other occasions umpiring tends to be about swings and roundabouts good sides rise above it.

I was pretty worked up about Goldspink, at one stage I came up with this 3-point plan:

We retain Warfe on the list.
We play him in the seniors the next time we have Goldspink umpiring.
We offer him a $250,000 salary as a runner for the next year, if he...

You can fill in the rest

I was unable to make it out to Satdium Australia, so I watched it on the box.

Barry did touch the ball oer the line.

Hird just got boot to ball before the line.

There were other call that seemed suss but on replay you could see that it was probably the right call. I was expecting worse when I saw no. 32 in yellow.

I think Steven Quartermaine made the worst (read biased) calls of the night. Definetly a bummer fan.

From my memory he's not, but he's a Melbournian, so naturally he'll go for a Victorian club.
