We want St Kilda to win to help secure a home final

The way I see it, so long as we beat Richmond, we need St Kilda to beat Brisbane to secure a top two spot and get one Melb final, and it is most likely that either Melb or Geelong will get the other Melb final. Then, we'll get a home final first up. So tomorrow I'll be cheering, yelling and wishing for a St Kilda win over Brisbane. Go u Sainters!! Do it for Sydney!!

PS Its likely that Sydney will play West Coast in its first final. Surely the fact that they will get a much better crowd for that game in Sydney might persuade the AFL to play it in Sydney.

Simply will not matter this year. The AFL have made it clear that the MCG has to host two games.

We need St.Kilda in 1st or 2nd. (Plus we have to beat Richmond...)

It's a double-edged sword because either Freo or WC could still finish above us in 6th, with us in 7th. WC would have to have two pretty sizeable wins to make up the % and Freo play St Kilda next week so it is unlikely we'd have to travel to Perth but it is certainly not out of the question.

I'm worried about the Richmond game. Seems to me the boys relax a little too much when they've had a couple of wins and could let it slide next weekend ...

Yes if Brisbane win Sydney will most likely play the first final in Melbourne. If Richmond doesn't win today they will have a chance to win without forfeiting their priority next week and will have nothing to lose.

Well it looks like a home final in Sydney is now out of the question. Can only play in Melbourne in Week 1 of the finals now (unless Brisbane lose to the Roos next week and St Kilda trash Freo, where it would open up to a Sydney final)

              Start getting those bookings ready.

Its certainly a double-edged sword now. We wont have a home final regaardless, but at least neither will WC/Freo.

A "home" final at the G is fine by me as long as we play WC/Freo. At the end of the day, we will have to win the GF there anyway

If St Kilda and Brisbane both win next week and Port lose to Adelaide, Port won't have a home final.

With one round left it's like this:

                      1. Port Adelaide 16 5 0 2328 1763 132.0 64
                      2. Brisbane 15 6 0 2277 1726 131.9 60
                      3. St Kilda 15 6 0 2331 1826 127.7 60

So if St Kilda have a big win over Fremantle, Brisbane has a comfortable final round win and Adelaide can do us a favour then we would get a home final... well that also depends on us beating Richmond *sigh*

To be a premeirship side we need a team who can inspire faith in the faithful that we really can win a flag.
Who in hell really thinks this team can do anything but fluke a flag againts the three teams at the top of the AFL ladder ?
                          Not this little duck.
Swans fans should have a good hard look at the lions vs saints game of today. We are not in the same leauge !

well i saw the lions v saints match and from half way thru the 2nd quarter the saints never looked like winning.....
against brisbane we won convincingly in sydney and put up a very good show for a small loss in round one.
that leaves port as the only top 3 team who deserve to win the flag against us..

OK, but I refuse to stp dreaming. Looks like it will be Syd playing at the MCG in the first wek. Anyone know what day and time its likely to occur? I wanna book a flight down ASAP.
