    Team changes

For the last game of the season, what do you reckon the final team will be?? The only change i can see is Mcveigh (ill) for Schneider. Then there is Kirks possible miss, so maybe Scooter can get a run????
    - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

I'm sick of hearing about "Scooter". Have you ever seen him play, and do you seriously think that he is senior material?
    Get serious please.

      Here Here.

I have watched him play on several occassions and his disposal is pretty damn ordinary and would need a huge improvement before being ready for senior footy.

I can't believe the same people mention him every bloody day. Are the in love with him or what?

No, not in love with, just impressed by. He is a hard worker and does have very good skills. Agreed his disposal in his last few games haven't been as hot as he was earlier on in the season. However he does get a lot of the ball - perhaps you could liken him in that respect to our J Bolton.

And if he was ready for a senior birth he'd have played before now! He was elevated from the Rookie list due to a long term injury. That says it all. If he was ready he'd have been on the list from the start. It doesn't mean we have stop hoping he gets a run.

I believe that Scooter needs another year before he's ready for senior football. He needs to bulk up over summer, and I expect to see him debut next season.

I cant believe that you could think that they would drop Schneider for McVeigh.
I really, so far this season, cant see what all the hype is about surrounding him! From what i have seen (maybe we are watching different games) im not that impressed - i think he is rather ordinary and he makes very basic errors.

The reason they bought Schneids in is because they need him in order to win the finals - he is far more dangerous than McVeigh will ever be...come on seriously 3 goals down with 5 mins to play I would rather have Schneider than McVeigh anyday

So he can stand in the middle with his hands on his hips, struggling for breath, pleading with the runner to take him off? Frankly I'd rather we went in with a fit team so as to reduce our chances of being 3 goals down with 5 mins to play.
Schneids has not been dropped for McV, he has not been fit. And maybe we have not been watching the same games because from what I have seen McVeigh is a good footballer who admittedly makes some errors but often when put under pressure by his own players. Regardless, I expect both to play tomorrow and Willo to be a late withdrawal. Time will tell.

Yep, I think we are watching different games

I think it is important for people to remember that last year Schneider was playing mainly as a forward pocket and folks hoped he would one day be moved to the midfield, this year Bevan has been playing mainly as a back pocket and folks hope he will one day be moved to the midfield... Jarrad has been brought in to the midfield straight away and been given bugger all time on the field, I think it is fair enough that he might look a bit lost at times.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I don't think I could have said it better.

McVeigh will become an awesome player. A lovely kicking style. Very handy from the midfiled with long range shots and his delivery by hand is also very quick and precise (if not put in impossible situations). To really see how he can influence a game he needs to have far more game time. He's right where he should be given his age and more importantly exprience. Look out for a big impact next season.

The main problem I see McVeigh having at the moment is adapting to the pace of AFL footy.
That will come with experience so he is shaping up well for next year.
The fact that he has been thrown straight into the midfield indicates what the coaching staff must think of his talent.

I believe he was played in the midfield in the twos to build his fitness.

I saw most of the 2's game last week and he looked a lot fitter. He also did a couple of very nice things, things that made him look a class above many of the others. I really did feel sorry for him when he came back before. My gripe was not with him but with the post that I replied to. I hope Schnieds has a cracker today, kicks a goal or two, picks up a dozen possessions, lays a couple of great tackles inside our attacking 50 and finishes the game with a grin from ear to ear...

Its great to finally see people arguing over which young Swan is better than the other rather than [b]worse[/].

IMO they are both hugely talented. Schneider's game in the pre-season against Carlton was a revelation. If not for injuries this year he would have certainly taken his game to another level.

McVeigh has steadily been learning the pace of AFL footy. His game against the Kangas (where he was a major reason we lost the game... got caught twice and both times it resulted in a goal) and the Bombers (where his quick handballs set up a number of goals) will hold him in good stead for next year. I hope he plays finals this year for further education. Then bring over his brother

Maybe you and I are watching different games. McVeigh really struggles with long range shots on goal. He can't kick more than 45m.

I had thought the same thing when I read that.

I am sure he will develop more distance into his kicking as his career progresses, but certainly he isn't a booming kick at this stage.
