    Rowan Warfe Retires

Rowan warfe today has announced his retirement.

Please be kind and say a few nice words

Me for one enjoyed watching him play in his peak, and it is sad to see him retire due to injury, which has plagued him for a couple of seasons now, and obviously couldn't go on any longer.

    Thanks for your service Rowan.

I think it is fair to say he was playing OK footy until he did his shoulder. It is also fair to say that if you cop a serious injury, for a lot of players, it is very hard to get touch back for various reasons.

    Thanks for the service Warfey.

Agree totally - IMHO he was one of our best up until that point that year. Could never fault his effort - he always gave 100%, but unfortunately, after that injury, he never could produce anything near his best.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

        Yep - thanks Warfey.

I've been one who has unashamedly been unsatisfied with him being on the list - but the fact is that is only due to injury. In the late '90s, he was a very useful defender for us. It's a shame that the Swans never got to see Warfe playing at his peak, unrestricted by injuries.

Good luck in the future, Rowan.

Right about the injury. Even so he was capable of some good things at times. A top club man. All the best for the future.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I agree with the comments regarding your injuries. I remember watching you fall on your shoulder in that wet game against essendon and felt sick.

Best of luck for your future endeavours. Thanks for everything you have brought to and hopefully will continue to bring to our club.

Well, I've always thought he was one of the better looking boys on the team, and for that reason I am sad to see him go. Also a pretty decent (if unlucky) player, IMHO.

                Good luck Warfey!

Thanks for all that you've contributed to this club warfey and good luck in the future.

i think he was a good assistant to dunkley when he played at his peak

good luck to him in the future

he showed good judgement in the backline and good judgement with the announcement

Thanks for all your efforts for the Swannies over the years Rohan. Shame injuries set you back a few times.
