    Saddington

If Saddo was fit this weekend - would he now be in our 22?

If so, who would be dropped?
    Regards,

i wouldnt put him in the top 30 at the moment. Apart from 1 game where he played forward, what has he done for a few years, and him not being in the side has had what impact?? Sure we need a key position backman but he's not up to it

It's hard to judge. Although he had been struggling, his form was on an upward trend before the knee.

On the balance of probabilities, I'd have Saddo in the team ahead of Ablett and Nicks.

Fair call, although if he was 100% fit this week he would find it tough to get a gig. It all depends on the opposition for matchups etc.. But i would definitely have nicks ahead of him on current form and question marks about ablett (im convinced noggy is roosys love child)

saddington is in the swans best 22 when fit

hes 192 cms i think and can run and play either end ..guys like him dont grow on trees

as for who goes out... ablett probably we have a lot of small running players in the current line up
Theres not much left to say

True - and he can play in the ruck as well, and even though he concedes maybe 5 to 10 cm to a genuine ruckman he can get the job done.

              yeh he has before

needs more chances to improve that
i think hes a key player and could bulk up a bit even.

He has less pressure on him than say a fosdike or an ablett...because we dont have a lot of talls

Saddington would be in for Willo this week, I would think if fit.Williams needs another week out before the finals.

I continue to be amazed at how we can work 'Saddo' into practically every thread on this forum. There is definitely something special about this guy. He can weave some magic.

The poor guy's got an ACL injury. He'll be out for a year. We won't see him until Round 5 next year, yet we can create a scenario where he's vying for selection this week!

it would depend on his form but i would suggest that he would be in the team

as i have always said, Saddo is a handy player to have in a good team, where he does not have to take on a key forward - i.e. you can slot him into a wing, half back or pinch hitting forward role. he is like the icing on the cake rather than an integral part of the team IMO

it is when we rely on him a KPP in the backline that we have a problem
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

He would **** it in for a place - can't believe it is even being discussed!

I'm not prepared to nominate someone being dropped but Saddo would be a first 18 starter every week IMHO.

Agreed. He's in my top 22 without any doubt. Would probably drop Ablett out.

Yep ... such as this action shot from the ABC website from the Hawthorn game this year.

And no, it's not an expletive in the bottom right hand corner of this shot.

have we really dissed every fit player already? I can't believe we've come full circle and are back to Saddo again.

It was only a metter of time.

Whatever our thoughts are, especially the anti-Sadds lobby, he would be in the selection committee's top 22 at present.
