How do we win the First Final?

I used capitals because it wont be the last.

First, move Kirky into Bazza's house for the next week. Cant have a tired tagger (I know there is NO WAY I could have played AFL one week after my kids were born... ignoring the fact that thats a poor excuse for my lack of talent). He must shut down Fletcher or Judd.

Second, smash the crap out of Embley. Ok so maybe the guy just @@@@s me, but it cant hurt. One Stuey specialcoming right up!

    Third, nullify Cousins with Crouch.

Fourth, kick a LOT of goals. Their backline is their weakness. Without Jakovich they are really soft. With our forward line firing they can do it easy, but complacency could really hurt.

Fifth, find a good matchup for Matera. Without him they cant kick enough goals, and he really lifts them with each freakish effort. Who though? Bevan? Leo? Bolton? Crouch? Very tough.

Thank goodness we have so many taggers because they have so many classy midfielders

shut down their midfield especially Judd.......maybe Crouch as he would have the leg speed, Kirk on Cousins. Fletcher will also need to be watched.

Forward line Matera and don't forget Mcdougall.........Sampi and the tall Seaby will also have to be watched.

Thats all very well and good Schneiderman but in all likelihood we will be playing Essendon.

I think you've missed a decimal place somewhere

C Bolton may be an option for Judd. The Eagle's midfield has such depth that we need all the tagging options we can muster.

Surely the $20,000 can buy an eight point game for Essendon??

            Ladder:

            6. Sydney 52
            7. W. Eagles 52
            8. Freo 44
            9. Essendon 44

Sorry - looked at the AFL website ladder and it had West Coast still on 48 points.

              Sorry.

Simple way to win the game, be in front on the scoreboard at the end of the 4th quarter

Is Craig fast enough to go with Judd? (not being a smart arse, I just honestly can't think of whether Craig is fast or not!).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I agree with most of Schneiderman's OP.
                    My rough guesses:

                    Midfield
Cousins - Kirk (hope he's not too tired)
                    Judd - C Bolton
                    Fletcher - Crouch
Kerr (may not play with a groin injury) - Mathews
                    Embley - Kennelly
Braun - Ablett (it's time he's given some responsibility again)

It's frightening how good their midfield is. Almost everyone of those players would be our number 1 midfielder. However, we really do have a lot of players who can play in the defensive midfielder role.

                    Back Line
Matera - Barry, Bevan (Crouch would be the optimal selection, but may be needed elsewhere.)
                    McDougall - Schauble

                    Forward Line
                    Good luck to them.
Hall, Davis and O'Keefe, will work to the centre/wings to get the ball.
Micky and Schneider can have the goalsquare.

EDIT: Surprisingly, TS is not much narrower that Subi, but it is much shorter. Still, the fact that the Eagles have never played at TS has got to count for something, right?

                    TELSTRA STADIUM: 158.7M x 118M
                    SUBIACO: 175.6M x 122.4M

I dont have time but these match ups are a little off, you havent taken injurys from westcaost into account as well as form or past lessons.
