Garry Lyon just said on Channel Eddie that the AFL have advised the Swans /Eagles will be at Telstra Stadium due to contractual obligations!

Why have we not hear that one before? Or have we.......

I thought it was contractual when and if the AFL awarded a final to Sydney. i.e An AFL couldn't be played at SCG over Telstra.

Suprising if true....God the AFL sign a hell of a lot of contracts that seem to get them into trouble.

The one certainty so far is that Sydney will play West Coast in one of the two elimination finals next week after the Swans finished sixth and the Eagles seventh.

That match is likely to be held at Sydney's Telstra Stadium next Saturday night but could be played at the MCG if the league decides to repay the final it owes the MCC under its finals agreement next week.

At the website for Stadium Australia http://www.stadiumaustralia.org.au they have it listed with "Event Date: September 2004 (Date TBC & event subject to Swans qualifying)". I am not sure if it was there earlier...
