In 1997 News Limited decided to give a spot prize to a customer at a Eastern Suburbs Newsagent of $5000.

They put the voucher thing into the top Daily Telegraph on the pile because the newsagent decided he couldn't be bothered waiting..anyway, 18 people missed out on the money because they went for the 2nd paper on the pile! LOL

Since that day, I have taken the top paper on the pile

Thanks for that - Here I was thinking that it is a shame that the two form sides in the comp will be playing each other in a knockout final next week... glad I am justified!

I was just thinking that before I got to the end.

They have all started playing better in past month or so. Good time to improve.

Everything points clearly to momentum building at just the right time in the season.

Here's to a Swans V Lions Grand Final. Who better to end the run and gain revenge

I'm afraid that's misleading. West Coast have won in Sydney 3 times out of 13 games. Since the start of 1994, West Coast have won once in Sydney out of 7 games, and this is what I think you are referring to.

Finals are a different ball game, stats become meaningless. BTW Wil Davis has kicked 21.7.

You are right, all I was doing was correcting any possible misunderstanding with the statistics. You should have said "West Coast have only won once in Sydney since 1994".

Your point is well-made, we do have a good record against the Eagles, one of the best in the competition. Hopefully that will continue this weekend.

One thing we must remember: history counts for nothing in individual matches because both sides start with 0.0.0 on the scoreboard at the start of the game.

You are right. I should stated since 1994.

As someone else pointed out - We did not beat anyone twice and no one beat us twice this year. All subsequent games results after rnd 15 were reversed. Therefore the Eagles beat us, last time (albeit on the Jacovich emotion + Goodes knee), so it is our turn to win!!
