Who we might play in September

afl.com.au has a useful link on its homepage called 'Final 8 explained'. If we beat WC, we will play loser of Bris v St Kilda. If we win that we will play winner of Port v Geelong. How nice would it be to knock Port out at AAMI in front of their disgusting, inbred feral fans and go through to the GF. Better still, maybe Geelong will beat them and we would come up against Geelong at the MCG. Woo-hoo, that's winnable!

The best scenario for us would be :

    If

    Geelong beat Port

    And

    Brisbane beat St Kilda.

Then we would have to play

St Kilda in Melbourne, Followed by Geelong in Melbourne.

Otherwise we would have to make a trip to one of/or both Brisbane and Adelaide.

    (Assuming we continue to win!!!)

We can reasonably safely presume we may win and that Brisbane WILL win.

That means we play St. Kilda at the MCG right? THEIR "Home" final!?

I think because of the banking arrangements that game would be played at the MCG.

It would either be on Friday night or Saturday arvo/night.

Brisbane fans will also be praying Geelong wins. A Port win will cost the Lions a home PF.

(The AFL though will be hoping for Port & Brissy wins to get them out of their current MCG hole - though straight into a new PF one)

I know that the Port is known for chocking, but I think this time that won't be the case. Geelong is terrible when travelling and to my opinion nothing will change this time. Geelong will go down so the likely scenario is that Brisbane will have to travel to MCG for PF.
