Will Nic Fosdike get a game in the seniors this week?
Originally posted by cressakel Who gives a rats toss bag about that blinking newsreader Tim Watson when it comes to crap footballers ( read: Nic Fosdike )running around in the team I have followed for 30 years plus.
What you don't understand is that at any given time there is 18 AFL footballers on the ground representing the SYdney Swans, who equate to 5.5% per footballer, and if one footballer is not good enough or smart enough to play TEAM football, then we are operating at 94.5% compared to the oppositions 100%.
Therefore, with Fosdike on the field for the Swans more often than not, we are starting 5.5% behind every other AFL team, which becomes annoying watching this crap after 30 odd previous years of NO PREMIERSHIP SUCCESS.
WE NEED 100% team football to win a flag, therefore Fosd@#*head is not required on the field for the Sydney Swans Football Club.
and what u say here is fine!
it justifies ur opinion
my comment was on the fact u couldnt post without resorting to basically calling fosdike names like ur at school

Fosdike has great hands - pickup and handball has a better kick than Mathews or Jude Bolton and has the football smarts to go with it. Would only rate behind kirk and Bolton for being at the bottom of the packs.
Coming back from injury is another story and shouldnt play this weekend but he will come back after a week in the reserves and if we win.
Sorry to disagree with so many but then again I said weeks ago what a good season Doyle was having and get rid of Ben Mathews.......aaaahhhhh gotta luv footy!
But Fozzy is an absolute specialist at kicking out on the full when under no pressure, to a leading player 20 metres in from the boundary. Also Bolton and Mathews get near the footy a heck of a lot more than Fizzdike. No good being a good handball if you don't get enough opportunity to display you're wears.

You probably didnt watch the first 6- 7 games of the season before Fosdike was injured when he was consistently in the top 3 possession winners for the Swans. At the time he was averaging over 21 disposals per game which was ahead of the Bolton at the same stage.
So please explain your comments?? and unlike Mathews and as per your statement is a good handballer.
Not only has he had plenty of oppourtunities but has been a very handy player when he has.

Lets stop this thread right here. Top 3 in "possession" in the first 7 weeks, wow I'm amazed, just amazed. On that point alone, not only must he play he must be captain as well.

well nice quote completly out of context of the message I was replying to ie

Where have I said he must play this week?? or made any statements to his leadership qualities?? Ive just stated some facts, but thankfull for your in depth response.
Wow Im amazed you replied to a post without understanding the context it was made.
It's a great problem to have normally Fosdike would come straight back in.His level of fitness should be relatively good as he is one of the fittest at the club.
I think he shouldn't play this week but would be first in line as a replacement during the finals (providing we last past this week).
It is near a certainty a player will get injured during the finals process.
Of the current players the only 2 I could see him having a chance of replacing are Bevan or Buchanan.
Bevan will play because he can go forward or back, and if we are having trouble with a small forward early on he tends to get a crack at shutting them down. Also his hardness and courage at the ball is what you want in finals...........could inspire his team mates.
Buchanan will play simply because he plays every game as if its his last, has a great burst of pace and is one of the best defensive forwards going around usually lines up on the oppositions best running half back.If we get past W.C and the Saints lose I could see him playing a defensive roll on Aussie Jones next week.
