    Super Effort

One of the reasons we have done well this year has been the stability in the side.

These guys played every home and away game this year:
    Paul Bevan
    Craig Bolton
    Jude Bolton
    Jared Crouch (obviously!)
    Adam Goodes
    Barry Hall
    Ben Mathews
    Brett Kirk
    Stuart Maxfield

Thats not a bad effort at all.

            Strange, isn't it?

Without this type of analysis, you'd surmise we've had an injury-riddled year. I suppose it was the injuries to key players (Davis, MOL, Saddo, Schneider) more or less concurrently that might lead you to believe otherwise.

Plus those who have played injured or short of match fitness. Goodsey is one, Kenneally and Maxfield as well.

I think it's fair to say we have had a bad run with injuries this year but thankfully most of our key players are now fit at the right time.

And you'd be right if you surmised we've had an injury-riddled year. Especially when it comes to key position players.

Of that list, only Hall and Ball are true KPPs, while Goodes, Leo Barry and C.Bolton could perhaps be considered as KPPs. Our issue was that our key players were the ones dropping like flys throughout the year, most obviously seen against Port. And this isnt considering other guys who arent KPPs, but are definitely key players in our team (like Willo, Davis, etc).

There is no way known that we have had a fantastic year with injuries. The list of the players who have played the whole year looks good on face value. However, last year we had more key players playing every game, along with the players on this year's list having almost troublesome years in 2003.
