    Tiger Cull

Do we want or need any of the (possibly) culled players?

"The Tigers would not release names last night, but it's understood the six will come from Adam Houlihan, Billy Nicholls, Marc Dragicevic, Simon Fletcher, Ben Marsh, Justin Blumfield, David Rodan, Greg Stafford and Rory Hilton. "

With the exception of Stafford (and he'd wanna be cheap these days), i wouldnt give you 20c for the lot of 'em. I dont think theres a guy in that list that would displace anyone in our team now.

Stafford and Marsh are the only two I would even consider, simply because we are still thin in our ruck stocks, but would have to be giving away virtually nothing to get them.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

I raised an eyebrown at Rodan. I know that Danny really rated him and he was capable of the sublime. His workrate and toughness was the big question, in fact they just didn't exist.

Personally, I would have love to seen him excel under a different coach who could teach him (motivate him to initiate) to do the 1%ers, to work hard when he doesn't have the ball, to go get the ball on those days it just doesn't want to come near you.

Looks like another skillful bludger on the AFL scrapheap. It's a pretty tall heap these days.

                Simple answer: NO

Its scary to think we were chasing Blumfield a few years back.

I wouldn't mind Stafford as a back up to Doyle if Ball retires.Even though Doyle has improved we are a bit light on for ruckman.I don't think the ruckman in the reserves are the answer so we have to look outside for a stop gap and for the future.

I wouldn't want any of the Richmond rabble coming to Sydney. And especially NOT Stafford.

Wow, what short memories people have. Doesn't anybody remember when Staff was playing for us. He played some great games. Maybe RFC wasn't ever a comfortable place for him and a change will do him the world of good. With Bally in his last or second last year and Doyle not being up to the job I think Staff could be an asset for the club. (I do however think we should only pay a pittance for him).

As for Rodan, he is a good player in a poor team. However, I don't think we have a place in our fwd line for him at all.

We could also find a place for RICHOOOOOOO though!

The problem is that after going nowhere for years, Doyle is actually showing some promise. Signing another ruckman who will be at least on the fringes of the best 22 is a great way to hold him back.

How would someone "on the fringes of the best 22" hold Doyle back?He is firmly in the best 22 and will be our number 1 ruckman next year.He needs a back up.Simple as that.Meiklejon doesn't look up to it and Eriksen needs time.Stafford would only play for a year or two and is also a handy forward pocket as he can take a grab.

Yeah, what's with that. How does Sheedy make players look so good, only for them to go elsewhere and be absolute duds. Heffernan is another such player.
