Heffernan has been handy this year for Melbourne
Meanwhile the Richmond has just named the six players they are cutting: Bill Nicholls, Adam Houlihan, Justin Blumfield, Ben Marsh, Marc Dragicevic and Simon Fletcher

No, actually, I do remember Stafford playing for us and that's exactly why I wouldn't want him back. He may have played some great games, but more often than not he played some shockers. I was glad to see the back of him.

And we have no need, no room nor no desire to obtain Richardson. EVER. (surely you were joking and forgot your winking smiley face?)

That is a risk, but if we got stafford cheap, he, and Doyle, are actually quite similar players, so would complement each other well.

A gun midfielder + Stafford could make a world of difference to us next year.

Come on Stafford is not now worth a carrot. When he left he blamed the Sydney medical staff for not getting him fit, how many games has he missed at Richmond, and that's not counting the month he should've got for Spider's chin!

If Ball decides to quit and Staff costs us nothing (and is happy to play for close to base payments) it might not be a bad move, even if we only got a year out of him. He did play some mighty fine football for the Swans from 1996-2000 ish and he was undoubtedly hampered by injury in his last few two year for us. He's missed some footy this year but his injuries seem unconnected to those he was suffering from a few years back.

I stress that this should only be considered as an option if Ball decides he's had enough. I desperately hope he thinks he's got another year left in him. But if he does quit, we will be very exposed in the senior ruck area next season while Erikson continues to develop. If we can secure a cheap but competent short term option we can then draft another young ruckman (like Earl Shaw) and wait for him and/or (hopefully both) Erikson to develop into a senior player to support Doyle.

Meiklejon doesn't look up to it
I think I read somewhere that Meiklejon was playing Fullback in the reserves??

Please not Stafford again the only medical worries he has was waiting for a heart to be transplanted into him

                        i.e. HE HAS NO TICKER!!

Was thinking the same thing. Richardson is so erratic. I reckon a change of scenery would do him good.

He HAS the ability, just what goes on in his noggin is what I find intriguing. (The fact that Anniswan could turn him into a swearing blithering idiot is proof for my point!)

If they're culling Tigers, I'll take one tigerskin for my loungeroom.

I don't think we'll have much use for cast-offs from a wooden-spoon club. Draft picks are generally better spent on promising young players. If the recruiting department of the Swans choose to draft one such player anyway, I won't mind.

We will achieve nothing by recruiting a has been like Stafford.

What we should be working towards is developing a ruck division like Brisbane or West Coast so if one does go down we can replace them with promising youngsters.

We should have learnt from our past mistakes in recruiting crocks.

                              Youth is the answer.
