    Crawford

SEN rumour has it Craword may want to step away from the club as well as the captaincy. Carlton, Collingwood & Sydney (of course) are interested.

Probably a beat-up. But if it is on, what would you give up for him?

Start the bidding at at Saddo, plus a second rounder?

    Not more crack smoking please

    Flakey

Nothing. It would be a massive step backwards for us to draft Crawford. 2nd Round alone, or nothing (and that's just because I don't rate draft picks after the first round).

Saddo is coming off a long term injury. And flaky. Sorry, but that's not a lot worse than what's been said about him here.

Roos said he wants experience. Many think we need a gun midfielder.

He may need the greasepaint and glamour that 'Sydney' offers more than the 'Swans' not at this stage thank you.

only for something that is expendable. One way or another the midfield needs improvement to get it up to speed with the midfield of other top eight clubs.

He may enjoy the anonominity of Sydney.
The club has been consistently successful for the past 8 years and he may see this as a plus.
His profile would draw more supporters to the club (Esp. Women ).
He has a huge work rate on the ground and this could lift others at the club.

I can't see anything bad about having him at the Swans, except for who it will cost us to get him.

I think the last thing Crawf wants is anonymity...Footy Show, Hank Bulger, that video..that doesnt sound like a guy that is craving anonymity

I agree. I think, as much as people now mock his leadership abilities, if he could put in 2 or 3 seasons with the club it would help our young midfielders.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

If he was 2 years younger I'd say go get him. Throw Fossie and Saddo on the table. At 30, the best we could hope for is 1 and perhaps 2 years out of him.

Still think the inclusion of Sydney as an interested club is as always a media beat up.

2nd round only - not fossie or saddington who could come good.

I reckon he might attract a few men as well

Seriously though, when I heard last night that he had stepped down as Hawthorn captain, it suggested a transfer might be on the cards. Thinking how much we need an experienced midfielder, it crossed my mind at the time, although his age is a slight concern. That said, if he can stave off injury, he could have 4-5 good years left in him. And he has the kind of celebrity quality that would fit in at Sydney. Hmmm, very enticing.

I'd give up nothing. Pick him up in the preseason for free. He's too old.

                            He'd be another Dermie

Isnt his injury a broken arm or something. Its not like a dodgy knee or shoulder that never really heal.

I'd take him. Fosdike plus a 2nd or 3rd rounder would be no loss to us. Saddington is a bit of a loss just due to his age, but he hasnt really done much in his time here.

Crawford would be a nice bridge before the likes of McVeigh and Bevan step up to be midfield guns in a few years.

How good would we be with a half decent midfield and ranked 1 in inside-50's ??
