    Stenglein 3 Way Deal?

The Crows have a history of trading to bring SA boys home, and we have a pile of them. So there is some possibility that we could be involved in a three way deal.

Who would we want from the Toasters, and who would we give the Crows for Stenglein?

Wouldn?t mind getting Brett Staker myself ? the kid appears to have some ability. But WC also have some promising young talls

Fosdike would be the obvious one that springs to mind

Agreed. He looks like the only ex-SA boy who is entertaining thoughts of going home at all. Or publicly appears to be missing Adelaide.

Anyone who watches the SANFL or WAFL know of any young pup who looks promising who we could draft externally?

Is Staker the goods ? haven't seen much of him. I do chuckle when people talk about NSW boys coming home. He is from Broken Hill after all

we would have to give up more than just Fosdike. Adelaide have stated that they will not be getting shafted in this deal. I suspect that if we want Staker, we'd have to give at least high 2nd pick to Adelaide as well.

I would trade Fosdike, Saddington as well as 1st and 2nd picks for Chris Judd.

I dunno Bart. It is just a mindset that makes Sydney supporters feel good, I guess. Even if a player is from a Riverina town closer to Melbourne than Sydney the feeling of having another NSWelshman in the team does kinda make you want to puff your chest out with a bit of pride.

I guess it is an identification thing for that anything. Multiplied by 10 because we are a minority sport.

All we need is to get Ray Hall Lenny Hayes and all the other ex-NSW players and we'll be right. Maybe even bring back Mark Maclure.

Still young blokes like Paul Bevan are a huge boost to our local juniors. We now know we CAN make it in the big league if we apply ourselves. My cousin's husband played for Penno and was huge mates with Lenny Hayes. I always heard them talking about their mate having scouts up from Melbourne watching him. Little did I know what an influential footballer he was going to be.

Hopefully we can get more NSW and SYDNEY-BASED juniors coming through, playing for the Swans.

My point is that due to their parochial siege mentality, Adelaide have in the past shown a tendency to overrate SA born players; thus one way to get a good trading deal is to trade an SA born player back to them. (eg Fitzy for P28) It would not surprise me at all if the Crows rate Fosdike much higher than we do, simply because he is an Adelaide boy. The Stenglein situation issue just raises the possibility of getting a player from either WC or the Crows in such a trade.

While it is nice to get NSW players back, I don?t think we let such issues interfere with good judgement come trading time.
