I just saw in the papers that St Kilda is favourite againts us. Odds are 1.80 to 1.90 in favour of the Saints. Not much, but there's still this feelling of no appreciation for the Swans.

You're right, and wrong. Port weren't convincing except in the last 5 minutes of the 1st quarter and (all of) the 2nd, and did look uncertain and a little panicky when Geelong were coming at 'em in the 3rd quarter (even though they never got closer than 5 goals!). Brisbane probably wouldn't be too worried about facing Port in the GF (although arguably Brisbane wouldn't be too worried about facing anyone).

However, if we just went to Adelaide thinking, 'Port are brittle- put some pressure on and they'll panic', we would lose. We'll need to do what Geelong didn't- at least break even in the centre clearances, and find relatively direct routes to goal and half-forward marking options in the wide spaces of Footy Park. (Goodesie and Rhino- welcome to the matches of your life!)

Make no mistake- the qualifying final last year was one of the most amazing games in years, but by their nature games like that don't come along too often.

Of course, not countin' my pennies re getting over St Kilda this week. Despite what the bookies say, I reckon beating the Saints on home turf, with the talent they have on their forward line, would be an achievement only a small notch below the 2003 Port triumph.
