Had a ball at telstra Stadium

Well what can I say had a great time Saturday night, well worth the trip from Tassie.

Started of very eventful as we had a 3 hour delay in Tassie before we flew out on Saturday.

Didn't get to the IBIS until about 3.00, my wife and I had a quick look around and were amazed at the people starting to mill around with there swans gear..........just killing time before the game started,

Had a quick Rum at the Brewery whilst watching the latter stages of the 3rd quarter between Ess and Melb before going to pick up our tickets.Waited 40 minutes with a group of other people at Gate G waiting to pick up pre paid tickets..........when they were handing the out around at the General Admission area............nice one Ticketek.

What can I say about the game great atmosphere, when Scneider kicked that goal in the 3rd quarter the SYdney chant was amazing.......got a good laugh at the people in the cheer squad aswell.
Was getting concerned phonecalls from friends back in tassie during the 2nd qtr saying the game was a chance to be called off........thinking to myself that would be just my luck.
The ground is a great place to watch the footy and I look forward to one day coming back up but hopefully being able to stay longer.

Atleast I got out early enough Sunday before all the storms started............mind you I did get back last night to a busted mains water pipe.Just to top up one very hectic weekend that I wouldn't have changed for anything

I love Telstra Stadium. I think its one of the best stadiums in the country and I'd happily watch the Swans play every home game there. The SCG is OK, however its a mish-mash of different stands. Its also too small in actual playing area.

How long before the Swannies can move more games out to Telstra?

Agree 100%. The SCG while the 'spiritual home' and in closer proximity to the majority of members has passed its use by date. Would love to see it levelled, members stand and all. I find the atmosphere has really improved at TS and travelling there isn't that bad.

I thought sat night was super. The ability to close of the top stands depending on crowds adds to the atmosphere IMO.

I don't mind it.When I first heard I had to go out there I thought it was the back of Bourke but it takes about the same time for me to get to Telstra as it does to walk to the SCG.

Also had a great trip from Brisbane. Virgin checkin system **** itself. Queue for 2 hours to get manually boarded from 6.10 am until about 8 30. Finally left about 9.00 am and got to ibis via ferry from circular quay. Good way to see Sydney. Great game but $48 cab fare back to aitport at 5.30am on Sunday morning was a killer. Go swans this week. Wish I could afford to go again but Fri afternoon airfares at short notice are too expensive for non business types..

You only have to check my sig. to see my opinion of the SCG.
The only thing that annoys me about TS is the angle of the seats near the 50m arcs and the fact that some of the ground is obscured if you are sitting in that area. Also the roof is so high that it barely provides shelter beneath it's edges.

I'd agree that the atmosphere has improved and having the station there makes for an easy getaway.

I noticed the "shelter" didn't exactly keep me dry but that was all part of the fun. It was a very dramatic evening with thanks to mother nature's involvement aswell.
The bonus for me was I didn't have to look inbetween poles!!

Dontchya hate that in the MA Noble and Bradman stands. Knock em down and build a new stand without big fat columns obscuring anyones view.

I can vouch (is that how I spell it?) for Simone and say we stayed sitting out in the pouring rain at the risk of lightning striking us and puddles forming on our jackets, and it couldn't have been any better!!

As long as I don't get sick for Friday's game!

Tell me about it mate. I'm on the 10:30 Qantas flight, $200 one way. Lucky I have $1000 worth of reward points from my employer as part of my salary.

As a travel agent, my tip is for those thinking of going to Adelaide the week after to book flights NOW. If we do get beatenby the Saints, you can keep the cost of the fare minus a $30-33 amendment fee for a period of 6 months as credit for the next flight you take.

Will a bad leg and trousers so wet I thought they would drop with too much activity, I did my best.

Yes, I was one of the gang lapping it all up. Shannon the Cannon Robbie, Beaussie The Freak CheerSquadSteve and Benny_w were all involved in the action.

                              Was awesome fun!
