With a big win in the rain against the Eagles in Week 1 of the finals, the Swans are back in Melbourne to play their first final here since 2001 when the tradition of the RWO Melbourne Pre Match Meet Ups began. We play St Kilda who themselves are coming off a huge loss to Brisbane. The stakes are high, loser is out and the winner gets a shot at Port in Adelaide next weekend.
Therefore with the match to be at the MCG, we return to our pre match venue for MCG matches - The Cricketers Arms. Last time out the meet up was a huge success with more people attending than ever for the Arms. For those who haven't been to the Arms, there isn't a great deal of options for food, just a BBQ out the back which dished up some pretty good food (try the Egg and Bacon roll, hmmmm). Still the place has plenty of grog and you'll have (hopefully) some good company. Kids are more than welcome at the Arms so bring them along if you want to.
Where: The Cricketers Arms. 327 Punt Rd, Richmond. On the corner of Punt Road and Tanner Street (Map) . Right across the road from Punt Road Oval and an easy walk from the MCG and Richmond Train Station.
When: From 4.30pm.
Look for the table next to the window, facing onto the Beer Garden. To spot us just look for the bundle of Cheer Squad flags and banners nearby. We move across to the ground at about 6pm as a group and take up our seat hopefully along with a huge amount of Swans fans in the ground.
At this stage no aftermatch function is planned by the club, but check back on this during the week as things could change. Hopefully we'll ,manage to find a pizza shop for the RWO Pasta and Pizza dinner after the game. Meet up in the Cheer Squad area after the game to find out where.
