    Davis Out Who Comes In

For a wildcard Tim Schmidt he has been in the best for the
reserves for the past six weeks St Kilda would not know much
about him and while it would be a big call to play an untried
youngster in a final I have a feeling he would acquit himself well
he is very well regarded by Kevin Sheehan who is an excellent
judge of young talent and having seen him play twice this year
I am convinced he is a star in the making.

Star in the making maybe but too much of a risk in a semi final. He will get lost with the pace and intensity of the game.

Sometimes a young player can step up in a finals debut and be really good - Hadley (second game) and Brereton are two examples.

True a young guy named Watson
played rather well in a finals series a few years ago I would
suspect that he wont be tried but I thought it was worth some
        discussion. cheers Ian

In a final I think it would be crazy to risk playing a rookie who has no (or very little) senior football experience. Schmidt will get his opportunity next season. There are enough decent players with senior experience hoping for a chance.

Besides, Davis still has time to prive himself and if he can, I will be very pleased to see him in our forward line on Friday night.
