Kirk should get Hayes. He has killed him every time they have played in recent history.

I would say Wilo and Harvey - two oldies going head to head

      Bolton on Ball

      Mathews on DalSanto

I'd like to see Schauble on Gehrig and C Bolton on Riewoldt, with Barry on HBF freed up with Kennelly to provide a lot of run.

Kozi has a foot injury, so perhaps Barry can take him and run off him.

Assuming Milne plays, Crouch to pick him up, Nicks to pick up Guerra.

            Kirk on Hayes.

            Ablett on Ball.

            Willo on Harvey.

            Mathews on Dal Santo.

I'm very nervous about this week - Saints may have been smashed but they are still a reasonable side. I'll will be mightily p~ssed if we lose this.

I think you're spot on with the matchups there. Even though Leo did so well on Gehrig yesterday, i would like to see him freed up to play loose man and Schaubs take Gehrig, leaving Bolton on Riewoldt. Leo can be back-up if either of these matchups arent working. Gehrig is the best match up for Schuabs, there isnt anyone else that would suit him.

Midfield matchups are spot on. Willo on harvey should be a good matchup for us, and Kirky to shut down Hayes.

I'm nervous throughout September for as long as the Swans are playing. I never approach a final sure of winning - been burnt in the past by my old SANFL club too many times.

I'm also a 'football tragic' while my team is in the finals. Just look at my posting ratio at the moment. Footy finals fever affects my work, my sleep, my credit card - my everything! One day, it will be truly worth it.

Actually, I am that fickle that I have swung back around and think Andrew should take Fraser. If we have a loose man, it is much better that it is Leo than Andrew... I think Matthew Richardson highlighted that in Rd 22.

I keep forgetting how long it was before Andrew actually played a game this season...

I'll preface my comments by saying I am clueless re match ups.
With West Coasts abundance of big forwards I thought Goodes would play loose man in defence to help out.I was close. He started in the forwards.

This week I think St Kilda are going to have the headaches trying to match up on our blokes. All the tall St Kilda defenders know how Barry plays since they all had a go on him last time.

With Micky,Ryan,Goodes and Doyle(I hope he starts forward. That would really stretch them) I think we are too strong for them.Buchanan might start on Aussie Jones as a semi defensive forward who can jag a goal or two.
St Kilda's ruckmen are going to struggle.Doyle must be having wet dreams about destroying Blake.(Crudity is my middle name)

Our midget backs did the job last game and Schauble might not even have a man to mark.It would be good to see him play loose man in defence as he reads the ball well.
St Kilda's midfield is going to struggle against our kamikaze's in Kirk,Jude and Maxfield (and Buchanan if he plays there).
I am more confident in winning this game than I was against the West Coast.

Is this the genius of Paul Roos? To create a side of countless combinations that cannot be 'matched up' upon (Grammar?). It is something I have been watching with interest this year with so many players spending so much time in the middle and rotating around the ground. I'm no expert, far far from it, nor have I ever played the game, and I am only relatively new to it, but I think with the exception of a few key players, Hall and Schauble in particular, Roos seems to be creating a side where most players can play a variety of roles - Saddington and B2 are the two that stand out for me. Goodes too (what a great way to counter the WCE's talls... fill our fwd line with talls so some had to move down there). Anyway, that's my two bob's worth - I would be interested to see what others think...
