One spare ticket available for Friday's match

    Hi gang,
Sadly I have to pull out of heading down to Melbourne on Friday as I haven't been allowed to take the day off work.

It kills me to miss my first match this year, but I have been told in no uncertain terms that I would not have had a job to come home to on Monday morning. As important as any football game may be, I just cannot risk that, especially when M-F 9-5 jobs are as rare as hens' teeth. Without the job I have, there would simply have been no Adelaide and no Grand Final weekend in Melbourne if we get that far.

Regardless of that, I do have a spare ticket available to anyone who wants it. PM me if you want it.

I'm hoping to be able to get to the game in Adelaide if we beat St Kilda.

That's bad luck but you can't lose your job over footy. Hopefully next year you can make every match, not 'nearly' every match :P

Bummer for you JF. Sorry to hear that. It'd torment me too if I couldn't go. Hope you get to Adelaide then instead.

No mate. I lied to their faces and they could see through it. I got caught, but did own up.

If they didn't play games on bloody Friday nights, we wouldn't have this problem, would we?

Without my job, I just could NOT afford the Grand Final if we made it there. I'm in enough debt as it is.

Plus, not having to work weekends EVER means I can devote my time to the Swans. Going straight from work on a Saturday to a Swans game at Homebush is a right pain where there are flags to be taped up, banners to be handed out.

I STILL HAVE this ticket. Does anyone want it?

23 games straight is a bloody good effort though Julian! Well done, and it is only external forces (the AFL and your work) keeping you from 24- not your fault at all. You have put in a fantastic fans effort this year!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

It's a great effort JF. My 17 games to date this year (18 tomorrow) pales in comparison. At least you can say that this year you attended every home and away game and every home final.

                      Hey JF,

If you work 9 to 5 why dont you just fly down after work on Friday night ?

You might miss the first quarter but at least you make the game
                      Bring back G Bennett !

That's what I thought but by the time he leaves work, gets ready in his Swans costume (lol), goes to the Airport, gets on the plane and bags checked etc and arrives in Melbourne and then from Tulla to MCG and gets to park his bum on the seat, it might not be worth it in many ways. It also depends on the $$$ too.

If I was loaded, bloody oath I would go!
