Does Mathew nicks read this forum?

I came acroos this at the official AFL website, this is just a quote out of the story,

As the season comes to an end, the inevitable trade talk begins and Nicks admits despite his good form he does not feel safe after being shopped around the last couple of years.

"There is no guarantee there is no trade talk there," Nicks said.

"It's probably not as high profile as it was last year with all the talk that I was going somewhere and the other clubs saying we won't want him. There was some interesting stuff on the net and it's quite funny thinking back now.

Would be very shocked if most AFL players with net access didn't read the forums.

      Really?

I didn't think they would bother, especially with fear of criticism etc.

If my work performance was being rated on a forum by hundreds of people I never met, I am pretty sure I would love to sneak a casual glance.

I have seen some players quoted as saying they look at the forums etc usually for a bit of a laugh, or to understand what the fans are thinking.

I can imagine players at Richmond for example this year not wanting to see a thing though!

I think a few players would read this site.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Terry Wallace said before he accepted the job at Richmond he went online to see what the fans were saying about him.

Hopefully he was looking at what the Bulldogs fans were saying.

If he does, he'll know that the Nicks bandwagon is rolling and has gathered a few more passengers! Onwards and upwards! Also, if he reads this thread: How good was that shirtfront on Hardwick!

Indeed. I thought he was past it last year, but I am glad he has proved me wrong.

If Mr.Nicks see me walking down the streets, he is more than welcome to come up to me, whach me in the shoulder and tell me I was a fool for losing faith.
He may then comment extensively how we can all shove it up our asses for betraying a loyal long term player.

Then he can buy me a beer for being a 'told ya so'

haha, I thought he had lost it, just goes to show how much we all really know sometimes at this distane from the club.
They obviously had faith that was rewarded.

                      Same deal with O'Keefe.

Geez, I wouldn't have said that O'Keefe ever really has underperformed...he has had two pretty good seasons and before that he was just a kid pretty much.

Matthew, if you read this I still have your Blue Oyster Cult t-shirt. I keep calling, but you don't pick up... I leave messages, you never call back...
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

bloodboy, I was referring to the club persisting with him when some wanted him traded or delisted.

Sometimes we like to think we all know something about everything, but our posts really are just opinions and comments based on our perceptions.

Which is why it all should be fun.

There are lots of relevent points made here, and lots of insightful opinions, but when it concerns player performance, the club are obviously in the box seat with wealths of information and plans for various players, and I am sure they laugh out loudly quite a lot at some of the player comments here.

Need I mation that at the end of the 2002 season, there were quite a few people here who wanted Goodes and O'Loughlin out.
Weren't starring, therefore they should go.
                              lol

Anyway, back to the original question, I wonder what the club rules are with regards to the internet and players.

Maybe Luffy could provide some answers there.

Are they advised to stay away from message boards?
Obviously they would not be permitted to post at all.
