James Meiklejohn?

I have heard a rumour that Meiklejohn will come off the rookie list for the injured Doyle-

Can anyone report on his development in the pre-season and early season reserves form.

I know he played well for NSW/ACT in the 2002 U/18 championship, but haven't heard much since.

he seemed pretty useless at the NSO game, but it couldnt hurt

I thought that he went OK in the NSO game but then he missed the remaining pre seasson games through injury. In that Essendon game he battled hard in the ruck and did a few good hit outs . He dropped a sitter but recovered . His kicking looked good and he seemed reasonably mobile for such a tall. I believe that he is well worth perserving with and will develop over time . He is only 18 and usually these big blokes need experience to develop.

I hope Goodes and Ball do the job this year and Meiklejohn isn't needed - but knowing the swans luck with bigmen last year..... nuf said (touch wood)
