Upset a little at the loss but philosophical.

Sydney scraped into the eight and the Saints were there always. More deserving for them to move on.

We would have got towelled up against Port next week anyway. There was no way they would have let Sydney get under their guard as happened last year.

Probably the best way to react Nolie. I let fly at a few players at the pub, as our season drifted away into nothing. And even got abused for my troubles.

Without both Matthews and Williams we had no impulse out of the centre. Goodes was so bad he was inept. When it rains, it pours so to speak. And the the **** was on Harvey, Mr Nobody?!

Nobody will remember that we kept Gehrig goalless in April; he murdered us up forward, with Barry and Schauble proving no match. But I could have kicked a goal with the amount of loose players the Sainters had running through half forward totally unmarked.

I feel like a fool. Sitting at work today with my Swans scarf on, telling co-workers we were a good chance to progress to next week, getting all excited about watching a good game, only to be bitterly disappointed.
The worst thing that that the footy-hating leaguies will be silently rejoicing not only our demise but our complete inemptitude.

I could have gone to the match today. And not had a job on Monday morning. Am told I didn't miss much in Melbourne, and people resorted to drawing pictures of my face in a vain attempt to get everyone chanting.

Considering the fact that I was not allowed to go to the match, was told I may be virtually be a cripple in 5 years yesterday, and put up with that CRAP tonight, I could do with a bit of cheering up right now.

Reminds me of the mindset we used to have in 91/92. Argh, the memories of THAT day against Melbourne do still fill the heart with great joy. Back then a mere win was treated as if it were a premiership win.

Wait till Port start winning them mate. We will all be cowering under our seats when they start mouthing off. (PortAdelaide1870 on Bigfoty is proof of the type I mean).

still very disappointed. I kept waking up all night as I was dreaming about the game. It took at minute for me to realise what day it was this morning (when I finally woke up properly) and that we're finished for the year.

Hubby and I have been sort of arguing for a month now about my attending the GF. I was going no matter what. He was less than impressed, having already had a couple of trips already this year lol. I can only imagine the standoff we'd have had if we actually made it.

I guess that argument is now mute.

I think my real disappointment comes from the fact that I honestly believe we had the players to do it.
Here's my heart and you can break it
I need some release, release, release

Somehow we got this far, despite playing an un-attractive game, only to lose it all in a dismal fashion (no way was the fridge going to cost more than the holiday). Well done to the team for not adjusting the trend, and to the supporters who get their hopes up for no apparent reason.

Same old story - yes its been the same since Roos retired we need a key defender!!!!!

Leo Barry and C Bolton have had great years but its too much to rely on them to match up on the bigger bodies every week.

Roos was out coached in this one but when you look at our players/squad he has done pretty well this year.

The club really needs to look at the squad and make some hard decisions, its fair enough to give some players a go but its obvious we dont have the correct mix to take us any further.

                  Cheers

True, even when Schauble was a spare man in defence, there was no one that could control the saints big 2.

It doesn't matter who's up forward when you let midfielders run unchecked through the centre square, over and over and over again. Playing Riewoldt from behind is also a sure fire winner

That's why Port must never win a premiership. NEVER!! No matter if Brisbane win six in a row if it means Port NEVER win one. Give all your support to whoever is playing Port.

Sydney may be out, but my most hated football team is still in and that keeps the finals alive for me.
