Much was said mid-week about the two coaches and how good Roosy was. But tnight he simply out done by a far superior unit, in the Saints. Continuing to play Goodes on Kossie or Blake when he was certainly not accountable, Nicksy not stayin on Milne, not polacing Bevo into the action early etc, all showed that Roosy didnt come up with a plan to knock em off. We played a brand of footy that wasnt suitable to dry, let alone wet footy. We buggered around on the flanks and wings, when the guts were there to be hit. Poor performance.

Out-coached
- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing! -
Yes.
The Saints wanted it more and although they remarkably had more clangers than us in the 2nd quarter (pls correct me if this is wrong) their coaching staff had all the right moves.
When it is wet the ball is heavy. Every kick we had landed short, players were forever on the ground or TRYING to kick off the ground.
Guess they really showed who the pretenders were this season. -

I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I think the injuries do mitigate Roos' coaching to some extent. However, injuries do not necessarily mitigate our loss. We were in real trouble at half time (only 10 I50s was a very bad sign) and injuries were not the major problem for that.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Out coached?
Try losing your two hardest runners, one of whom is also your best attacking midfielder. Your bench is cut in half.
And your playing a team that is made up of more top-5 draft picks than any other. Ample reward for being @@@@house years and years and years.
Your midfield is too slow and defence is too short for their fast, tall and classy opponents. Plus the maggots appear to be on their side.
I will NOT accept that we were out-coached. We were beaten by a better team on the night. Cornflakes Thomas has got the most talented list on the competition. But IMHO they succeed despite their machavalien, back-biting coach.
@@@@ them. I really don't want to see St Kilda get up and win the flag -- they don't deserve it. At least Port has had the balls to be competitive for a number of years with all the disadvantages that go along with that.
As much as I can't stand Port Power (or their coach), I'll be hoping they knock the basket-case Aints on their arse.To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!Comment

Give Roosy half a team of top ten draft choices to level the playing field and then see who is the better coach.
You can only coach with what you have and I think Roosy with the players at his dispossal has done a marvelous job and there is a real feel of team unity amongst the guys.Comment

If you think Roosey was outcoached, what moves could he have pulled that would have changed things around?
I admit I've thus far only watched the game once, live at the ground, but my impression is that we were just outplayed by 22 guys who played much better than our boys did. They were fumbling the ball, not attacking the loose ball, not shepherding when there were obvious opportunities to do so, not marking, not running to receive (especially in the second half) etc etc.
Roos could have moved the pieces around as much as he liked but without the fundamentals of the game in place I don't see how this would have changed the outcome.Comment
