    Spirit

As much as I dislike them, those Bombers have spirit. That was a very nervous 4th quarter for Geelong last night.

It seems that there is a never-say-die spirit with some clubs that persists over decades - Bombers, 'Roos, Blues. I wish we had it. We capitulate far too often.

I disagree. Many times this year the Swans tried to catch up with the oppositions lead and fought hard to do so. Sometimes we won eg Carlton, sometimes we didnt eg Essendon.

Maybe you wanna go back to hugging those trees. They've obviously got more spirit than the Swans.

Man, with supporters like this why would they wanna win?

Perhaps the 'Shinboners' or the 'Baby Bombers' or the 'Blue Baggers' are more your style. Go bother those losers for a while. Then when you're done complaining about them, maybe you'll realise what a great gift God has given you by putting the Sydney Swans on this Earth.

        Well this year...

We fought back in the last qtr against Geelong, Essendon, and Carlton.

We wilted against the Melbourne, St Kilda, Richmond, Hawthorn, Bulldogs, Geelong, and Kangaroos.

Not sure if Essendon's last quarters were the best example over the course of the year, but it was last night.

To be objective, why are the Sydney Swans a great gift?

You think the Kangaroos, Essendon and Carlton are losers? How many flags have they won in the past 30 years?

If you have to even ask that question, then what the hell are you doing here?

The reason why I admired the Bombers effort so much on Saturday night was the urgency of them in the last quarter..in reality they had little hope of catching up but they just went for it, knowing it was their final chance and while they fell short, they had a red hot go, leaving nothing to chance.

I agree with your comments - but more in respect to finals, from memory I don't think we have ever lost a close final (modern era). We typically seem to win close ones or fizzle out.... which to me is a worry.
