I wonder if the people who complain about the members stand being outdated are the same people who complain about the loss of tradition with things like possible night grand finals in the future.

On a separate issue, I'd like to know what people think about the members stand who actually sit there or have access to it. Personally, I hate the poles, but upstairs is a great place to watch cricket, and there is something magical about the bar, with the big BRADMAN sign at one end and all the other memorabilia. I have a hunch that most of the people that complain about this stand have never been in it (but I may be proved wrong, which is fine. I am just interested).

I complain about the Ladies because that's where I sit and the poles give me the @@@@s. It and the Members need to be moved to Nth Sydney Oval with the rest of the old stands.

I also couldn't give a stuff about whether a GF was played at night or day.

Shouldn't the Swans be looking after people who are ALREADY members, rather than inconveniencing existing members just to TRY win a few new supporters? If most of the current members come from the north shore, Eastern suburbs and inner west, surely the SCG is by far more convenient to get to than Homebush.

Perhaps they could introduce courtesy buses (like they used to have from Easts) from Strathfield and Parramatta stations, or something like that, to try to bring people in from the West.

It costs me $3.60 and takes me 3/4 an hour door to door to get to the SCG from my house. It costs me $8 and takes me at least 1 1/4 hours door to door to get to Telstra from my house.

When I first started watching AFL in 1995 I loved popping down to the SCG on a sunny Sunday afternoon, sitting in the sun and watching footy. These days most games seem to be at night (all but four this year) where you have to sit in the freezing cold, and worse still often have to trudge out to Homebush.

BBQ and beers is the only way to watch a GF if you are not at the ground, IMHO. A night GF would not appeal to me at all. What would be the point anyway?

What, they aren't high enough already? Geez, maybe they should play a quarter each weekend for a month and really build it up. Hoax.

They are more than high enough, but advertisers look at average prime time ratings in a different light.

This along with say Aus Idol would give 10 enough Prime Time points average for the year to see more exspensive advertising packages.

Night grand finals also do allow fireworks and all that jazz and generally atmospheres are more electric at night time.

I favour a day grand final - but would be very shocked if we haven't reverted to at least a 6.30pm start within 20 years.

                    The Easts buses still run.
