4 with the Swans reserves, the rest of my info comes from word of mouth and ground reports.
No matter what anyone says about him, consistantly being our best reserves player, and not being given any shot at the seniors means the kid is entitled to feel hardly done by !

        Them the breaks!

Darren Cresswell was recruited by Geelong - it was always going to be uphill for him with the amazing midfield that team had in the early 90's.

Likewise with McGlone - I think we have enough hardworking players with average skills.

If McGlone really is good enough, a club will find him.

And another one for every player we recruit from elsewhere.
That's right, but... +1 for Bevan also.
So its not over by a long stretch.

Thats true, I'm not so worried for McGloane as I am worried about the fact that we didn't even try him. BOG week in week out, and we didn't even try him once !!!

I've been a big supporter of Scooters for the past year. But I honestly believe although his performances in the reserves were exceptional at times, his build was holding him back.

I would have liked to see him have a shot at senior level though.

Who knows I thought he was gone last year when they delisted him then too only to pick him up again. I have a feeling though this time he's not coming back.

I think the BOG list was purely named on the basis of possession gathering and goal kicking, not much else.
                - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

So its worthless and should be ignored as an indicator of how players are performing in the 2's?

Not ignored completely but not the be all to end all that some make it out to be (mostly footyhead). For the selectors at the club they would look at more than just the BOG list in the papers when deciding when to bring in a player for the seconds. I would think the two key deciding factors would be whether the player fills a positional need and whether the player's body is ready for senior football.
                    Once was, now elsewhere

Also how well he trains and matches up against the senior players in drills.

Willoughby and Schmidt made him redundant.

Scott McGlone impressed the men in White in the voting for the Mulrooney Medal in the Canberra comp. He finished 5th overall with 16 votes. The winner Nathan McDonald from Wagga Tigers received 22 votes. Other top vote winners from the Swans---- 11 Josh Willoughby, 5 each for Rowan Warfe and Josh Thewlis.

Sorry, but now that I have just read this, delisting McGlone still doesnt make sense.

The one that interests me the most there is Willoughby! In his first season!!

He played every game in the competition, as an elite afl player he should have romped it home in the league b&f

Whatever, the fact is that kids comming onto the Rookie list from now on must realise that no matter how well they perform in the Canberra comp, no matter how much better they are than their teammates on the senior list, they are still not a chance of anything, unless of course they meet the nebulous requirment of being the right build, or of being able to play the position of :"half way up Roos arse" to perfection.
Where is the incentive ? when a player like fosdike is given chance after chance and Scooter gets zip? Don't give that **** about Fossie being top ten draft pick, if you don't choose the team on results, then you deserve the crap you get.
Now go ahead all of you and defend the status Quo. Thats what you are all so good at !
No wonder this club has never one a premeirship in anyones living memory, your all just so happy with every *ucking thing that is going on here. Well enjoy the next 70 years.
