    Restarts after a behind

With Schwatta gone, who will be responsible for the kick in after a behind - it looked like it was shared around a bit last week. I think I saw Leaping take some, Maxfield and maybe Craig Bolton (I was too busy adjusting to the fact that I didn't need a supplemental oxygen feed in my new Homebush seat to take in all the detail).

The old option of Schwatta booting it 60 metres to a contest where Dunkley grabs it and handballs it to a running player are over.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

I think Maxfield should do it he is a very good kick of the ball. But your right the old days are over.

ACtually that was one area where I was NOT terribly impressed. There seems to be instructions to run it out as much as possible - and our options at HB to mark the ball from the kick out look pretty thin. There were a few hairy moments where we almost coughed up possession when picking the wrong options. I don't know what the solution is, but I assume we'll be trying out a few guys in the kicking out and marking positions over the next few weeks... You're right - No more Schwass to Dunkley combos there.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I don't mind C. Bolton kicking out. From what I saw on Saturday he's got a beautiful kick -- long, low and straight. Schauble's pretty accurate too.

It's interesting -- neither of those two are as powerful or as strong a mark as Dunks, but they're faster and much better kicks. Obviously we're gonna really miss Dunks in defence (especially when we're under seige), but hopefully this difference in attributes weill lead to a 'zero net gain' (at the very least).
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

So long as they kick it instead of the nutso option of self kicking and running. Why on earth would you do such a thing? As if the opposition will wait around and let you kick it up the field on the second possession rather than the first. Get on with it and get on with it quickly.

Iv got nothing against the chipping to yourself method. If the flood is in place and there are no options then go for it. Another player will be drawn and a decent kick gives u an extra 15-20 meters. But the fast restart is easily a favourite of mine. A few times last week O'Keefe and i think C Bolton were taking there time (in the back pocket) and all options froze. A fast games a good game
            - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!
