Purely "a football decision"? Give me a break.

To do with money AND the fact that he is not happy with Richmond's direction. Trust me on the latter, I told you on a few days ago that this would be made public on Friday. He really fears that the Tigers will spend quite a while near the bottom and he is not prepared to put up with that. I think with a new environment you might start to see more consistency providing his body stands up.

Agree....if it was purely a football decision, then his management company wouldn't have made any comment about the pay cut he's been asked to take being unreasonable.

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

If he's leaving for "premiership" reasons the move to Geelong makes more sense - more premiership potential, doesn't have to move house etc

So if the Cats have got the cash, they'd have to be a real chance over the Swans

I also always wonder about the influence of the girlfriend or wife in these decisions. Would they want to move to Sydney as well?

I've got a mate who is quite close to the Cats - this is his mail this morning...

Spriggs & Rahilly to Hawthorn plus 1st round Draft pick (13)

Hawthorn give Richmond 1st round draft pick (2) so Tigers have 1st 2 picks in the draft - Ottens to the Cats.
                Regards,

I think that is a myth. Freo traded their priority pick to the Hawks a few years back for McPharlin and Croad. It was the pick that the Hawks famously used for Hodge (fearing Ball's OP and Judd's shoulder problems).

Says who? Geelong didn't achieve anything more this year than we did last. Who's to say they are closer than we are? Sure, they have a better midfield but we have an infinitely better forward line.

Would the addition of Ottens to our midfield have more of an effect on us than the addition of Ottens to the Cats' forward line? Who knows.

Are you a Swans supporter? If so, I think you've got a pretty ****ty attitude about Sydney's premiership prospects next year.

Sure am a supporter and the Swans should be genuine prospects for the flag next year, but if I was an "outsider" like Ottens, I might be looking at this year's performance (Cats v Swans) and the prospects that the Cats can continue on next year.

Geelong are closer to a flag than we are at the moment!
