AFL talks up extra Swans Victorian game

At least they had the sense to still schedule the extra Melbourne game at the expense of games in Melbourne early in the season rather than vice-versa.
Would I be right in assuming all our Melbourne fans would prefer 6 Melbourne games despite having to wait until Rd 10 to see us play there over only having 5 games in Melbourne but getting to see us play earlier in the year?
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

The Wizard Cup game gives Vics a chance to see the team early in the year too, and will probably be linked with a family day, so not that bad."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. We are the only team that draws in Canberra.
I went down for the first time this year and loved it.Occupational hazards:

My understanding is that Sydney are very happy to play there. Its an away game that draws a vast majority of Swans supporters and probably help to stengthen the club's support base in Canberra.

In an ideal world perhaps, but 6 games is 6 games.
What I DO want, is to simply be able to see the games which aren't being played in my state. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Where will the Wizard Cup matches be played then?

Having a game in Canberra means that people from the Riverina, virtually a Swans heartland these days, get to see a match closer to home.
Just a shame the oval in Wagga is such a shocker. Would enjoy watching the Swans there.

Don't get our club is not just Sydney's team but NSW's. We have a Wagga-based membership available, with bus trips organised to both Sydney and Melbourne.

JF
oval goes the city council in conjuction with the AFL are planning
a major upgrade of the ground and its facilities so that pre
season games can be played there. I was there twice this year
for the Swans reserves matches it was okay but we have not
managed to get the Sydney chant going but I am working on it.
cheers Ian
