I even choked up at that point! Thank goodness for the applause so he could get himself together and continue with his speech.
It was very emotional and I really felt for the guy.
By the way Brett Kirk and Leo Barry also spoke very well after being awarded as the runner ups in the B&F.

      Barry Hall for captain!
He said that he never really had any sort of father figure at all ad that a fellow by the name of Phil Mullen (?) was very much that kind of bloke to him. Does anyone know any more about this guy? What does he do around the club too?

He did break down completely. It was quite touching actually.
Bazooka Woman was well gone by that stage, but was melting at her hero showing his feminine side.

Well done Baz on a great year of footy.

A special shout out to Ryan for his most improved award as well as finishing 4th.

And to Leo for his perfect score in round 11.

And finally not featuring in the awards but just for being a really really nice guy to chat with Josh Thewlis.

Like to endorse that too and add that they all spoke extremely well .. none of it scripted in a reading-from-cards type of way.

Roosy especially, seemed to go on forever, almost presidentially as it were. Had the room in his palm of his hand.

              Very proud of the group.

I totally agree. I just hope Robert Dillon from the Newcastle Herald doesn't hear about it. He'd have a field day.

Oh my god, how embarrassing was I? After all that effort taken to wear grown-up clothes and everything, and by the end there I was, velvet frou-frou tied around my waist and a bloody singlet top on, slurring to Barry about what a legend he was and how drunk I was ...

Lucky there were so many people there, so my hysterical 'Go BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZ!' screeches didn't ruin the formality of the moving proceedings!

More congratulations ... I'll include these posts in the presentation too ... please post here or in the TLM thread for inclusion in the TLM Presentation book. I will aim to get a presentation late november when the boys are back from their break (and beating Paddy and Mick).
