Gee, I found that quite embarrassing really. Everyone was looking at this fat bastard banging a drum with a Diet Coke bottle and thinking "look at that freak".

Interestingly enough, it still made plenty of noise. But a drumstick is heaps better. And 1000% less naff.

Greg Bell also managed every game this season. I would have, but you know what happened on the night of the St Kilda match, don't you.

Most importantly the bridge between club board and barrackers seems to be narrowing. With the legacy of private ownership being further and further moved into our memory. To be honest one of the reasons I got involved in a campaign to get member voting right was that I felt that there was too much distance between the club board "in their ivory towers" and the average fan. Thankfully those days are well and truly in the past. And people at the top are starting to recognise the little people who help make this club what it is.

We should not underestimate the importance of RWO in giving the members a say. anyone can guage the thoughts of the members and supporters by simply clicking on here and seeing what everyone has to say about a certain topic. That not only gives us as supporters a voice in wish to canvass opinion and to network. and it helps the club guage how best they can plan ahead with memberships etc etc.

I just wish other staff members within the club would recognise the things discussed here. I was offered one of the CS tickets to the dinner, and as my bf was here on holidays, I asked if I could pay for his ticket so he could come with me. I was promptly told that was absolutely not possible unless he sat at another table, but why would I pay for my partner to not even be able to sit with me? As a result there was very little incentive for me to attend this year as I could not afford 2 tickets on my own and didn't want to go alone.

Congrats Peter. Definitely a very worthy first recipient who is recognised by many people on the TV. He even got asked for his autograph at the Melbourne game!

To who the larrikans up the back replied with a sarcastic "we're not worthy, we're not worthy!"

I only got that treatment once-at a pre-season match against Essendon at Macquarie Uni. This kid had the 1996 Yearbook with him and came up to me and asked me sheepishly to sign it.

I laughed bashfully, but did kinda feel famous for at least 30 seconds of my life.

There were 2 seats empty at our table (but all the food gone! ) It was your loss not to come Gem.

T'was a good night. And thanks to RWO, unbelievably social. I didn't realise I knew so many people who follow the Swans.

I wasn't going to waste the night - I get to see my boy once every 3 months, and the fact that I was flat out told that even if I did pay for his ticket we couldn't even sit together - I'm not about to leave him on some random table!

But i'm glad you guys did have a good night - hope the champers was as good this year Jules!

And I shoulda said it earlier: big congrats Peter - I read that post on Saturday and was all smiles!

May I just say that it is absolutely commendable that the club recognises fans. I can think of more than a few sports codes that ought to follow the example.

It's nice to know that if you work hard enough and long enough for your team, there is the possibility of acknowledgement.

And now there is BonBon O=)

I wanted to be the first to say Congrats, the first to know about the award, the first to get the award. To conclude, I want to be the first to know/do everything but unfortunately you are a bit behind when you are on holiday in QLD!

*Clears throat* Well done, Peter! Mayor of Petoria! (And car, seeing that you said you live in it more than your house!) Lol.

BTW; Who was the first person you sent an SMS to when you got the award?

I am proud Ryano came 4th and got Most Improved. I was happy I was jumping on the sofas so much in the appartment, I nearly caused a bloody Earth Quake!

Seriously Peter, I kinda thought you were joking when you TXTed me. Did you really have a beer with Ryan? D'ya reckon I'm cool and good looking enough to have a beer with him? Kk, no more Ryan.

Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.
