Surgery for Baz?

Barry Hall also had minor ankle surgery which is why he won't play in the International Rules series, but he will be fine for the start of pre-season training.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Thanks .. breathing a sigh of relief, though it does mean I don't get to watch him play before the Wizard cup .. b*gger!Kick it! Kiiiiick iiiiiiiiit!Comment

im actually pleased in a way
prefer the swans players to miss the international rulesTheres not much left to sayComment

although the players' would love to represent australia, I feel the same way. Any non-premiership game that risks them doing a serious injury is better off missed if you're a swans player!Originally posted by swansrule100

I can't fathom this attitude. It's pretty evident how much the likes of Kirk and Crouch enjoyed playing IR last year and it's their one chance to represent their country. It's the end of the season so they don't need to come up next week (one of the problems with the midseason SOO). Why begrudge them the opportunity?
I love watching our guys do themselves and the Swans proud running out to represent Australia (or Ireland).Comment

I have to completely agree with this and even from a selfish Swans supporters viewpoint, Kirky, Baz and Crouchy had their best season ever following their representation in 2003.Originally posted by liz

For me the term, "rich get richer" describes how good players get better around great players. They got to see how the best in the comp go about their stuff from all angles. Playing opposite Matthew Scarlett give you some insight into his brilliance, but playing with him opens him up completely. Playing with others for such a short period of time also reminds the guys what it's like to think on their feet, hit the ground running or whatever you like to call it.
Big tick for mine! The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

I don't begrudge them, good on them, but when it comes to my football club I am very selfish.Originally posted by liz

I don't like the players being in situations where they can get injured. Simple as that.
Plus I personally see the game as a bit pointless and more of an end of season trip for the boys.Comment

So does Barry still get to go on an all-expenses paid junket if he's not actually going to play?Kick it! Kiiiiick iiiiiiiiit!Comment

Hmm interesting. I am guessing figures generally would support that more footballers are going to be injured on the football field as opposed to the daily activities you list.
Because there have been no serious injuries, that rules out ALL possibility of future injuries? right.
I find your post pretty funny actually.Comment

Was just trying to make the point that, unless you want to wrap players in cotton wool except when they are actually playing, injuries can happen in seemingly innocuous circumstances. Of course there is a chance that someone might get seriously injured but if we let the fear of what might happen rule us, no-one would ever do anything.Originally posted by Damien

I just think its a bit precious of fans to bemoan that "their" players might, just might, get injured 6 months before the start of next season playing a game that means something to them.Comment
