Collingwood has fielded interest from Sydney and Hawthorn over midfielder Shane O'Bree who is contracted to the Magpies for another season.

i liked O bree a few years back,, but the consensus seems to be that he has not stepped up to the level many expected him to be at. we do not need another midfielder like that.

meanwhile i had to laugh that Port wants only Pavlich or schammer for Josh Carr.

Too right. O'Bree is not the gun midfielder we are looking for.

Most players will have more impact with half the possessions O'Bree has. He's not the sort of player we need.

Agree. He's not really a cut above our midfielders, so I don't see much point in getting him.

I can only see any point in trading for something you don't have but you need.

O'Bree would be a handy backup at best - maybe a 2nd round draft pick but even that would be generous.

No pace, not a great disposer of the ball and looks to have gone backwards in the last few years.

With our draw next year including 4 games at TD, the bulk in Sydney and so on, I reckon we would be putting quick players at a premium. We probably won't play too many games in pouring rain.

Wouldn't even pick him up in the PSD if he was available. And here I was thinking we were looking out for gun midfielders.

There appeared to be some suggestions last week that Whitnall may end up playing for Sydney. Now I'm beginning to wonder whether Sydney will get anyone at all. I will be very sorry if we dont get Ottens.

How on earth will the Saints fit Whitnall under their already bulging salary cap?????? If they really want Whitnall, we'll ease their salary cap by taking Riewoldt off them

                        As for O'Bree...NO THANKS!
