    Crawford to stay at Hawks

    Just confirmed on Channel 9 - "Today" - that he was definitely going to be there next season. That means we wont be getting him, ruling out a lot of random specualtion. So we arent gettin Crawf, Ottens (or so it seems)....that will leave us with Jolly and possibly O'Bree....um, real aggressive trade period Roosy

      So lets give them whatever they want. Name you price Richmond. I'd rather we picked up no one than be trading away the crown jewels. You can't MAKE trades happen.

          He also added "unless they trade me today, I will be there next year".

          Door slightly open! But can't imagine the price would suit anyone.

              Mate, have you ever believed what any sportsman say, particularly AFL players in the crazy season of October ?!!

              The trade period gets mad and crazy from late today onwards.

              Watch this space, Roosy and Barham are shrewd operators and will bring home a few bacons ( Ottens, Jolly, Simmonds etc etc ) for a few eggs ( Fosdike, Doyle etc )....

                              PERSONALITY ASIDE, he is a superstar on the track. Carried Hawthorn till his back gave out. Once he overcomes this niggle, which he will, Crawf will be back performing brilliantly for his club.

                              He won't get to Sydney, I know that, however he will shine for Hawthorn in 2005 and there is no reason to believe otherwise.

To justify this you'd have to expect to get a good 4 years at an absolute minium out of him, and it is unlikely he's got that much longer left in him.

                                          Exactly. Also, over the past two seasons, he's had serious injury problems. Not worth what we'd have to trade to get him.

                                          There is no way known that you can say that it hasn't been an aggressive trade period by the Swans yet. Only a handful of deals have gone through between 16 clubs and many rumours and speculation (like always). The last two days seem to be the days when most of the deals are done. It seems that the always leave it to the last minute.

                                                  I can see why we wouldn't take him from this perspective, however there seems to be this common view that Crawf is washed up, no good, sore back, plays for a bunch of girls etc.

                                                  As far as I knew in 2003 he got second in the Brownlow so his true form is not poor by any means.
