    The Will Gayfer Mystery

This time last year Will Gayfer was being touted as a possible first or second round draft pick for the Swans, not only was he not picked up by us he was ignored alltogether.

It was interesting to note that he took around 12 marks and was the Murray Bushrangers best player in the TAC cup grand final, being 6ft 4 and a strong marking CHB I wonder where he went maybe interstate does anyone know.
    cheers Ian

Played in the SAFL for South Adelaide (not 100%) - i believe he spent a fair part of the season in the reserves

there seemed to be a number of theories going around about why he was not drafted which had nothing to do with his on field ability

doubt he would be in anyones calculations this year

Thanks for that I thought there would have been some reason for him being completely overlooked.

depends what it is - if its an Angwin like outlook on life then steer clear of him

i understand that his form this year was nothing special in any event spending most of the seasons in the reserves so i doubt that he would offer us much anyway

If no one takes an interest then there is a chance he is no good.

Everyone is right. Seethe South Adelaide homepage to get the report on the SANFL reserves Grand final in which he played last month.

Also check out this report from 2003 on the Woods home page which cites him as a dead-certainty to get drafted.

Whatever the reason for his non-drafting, if he can't get a regular seniors game for South, who finished well down the table, then it's curtains for an AFL career unless he's got an immense amount of improvement in him.
