    were the commentators too biased

Were the commentators too biased, yes they were, who do they think they are, most of their comments were uncalled for, pro-docker comments really pissed me off.

Exactly my thoughts but i wasnt sure if it was cos of the loss that i had the $hi+s or if it really was bias. The commentators didnt know who the Swans players were and got very worked up when the Dockers were doing well

fully, they were really pissin me off as well

i really hate the WA crowd (those that are non swans), umpires and commentators... all are very unprofessional!

crowd - coz they r such sore sports, whenever there is a free kick no matter how blatantly bloody obvious the infrigement is they always have a big sook

umpires - they called a handball a mark for crying out loud, im glad that the freo player played on but u cant be that stupid! also the goal umpires, whenever freo scored theyd have this huge grin on their face and swans scored poker face... whatsmore the umpires werent paying any prior opportunity, they need an update on the rules, the freo player would have stacks of time to get rid of the ball but it was always play on!

commentators - the WA fox footy crew are the worst commentators in the AFL by a long shot, i dont mind listening to eddie over those lot
      C'mon Chels!

        very ordinary commentating

I have to agree with all the above comments. They thought Freo played awesome. They played well and the Swans atrociously. Even Carlton could/would have beaten us last night. The commentators (who are they?) failed to realise that the swans poor options were the reason Freo looked good.

It's probably no worse than the commentating in sydney - remember when they'd have Dale Lewis or Tony Lockett as one of the guest commentators? We wouldn't notice so much then as we'd be agreeing with them!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Next to the Hudson call last year, the commentators were without doubt the most biased I have ever heard (even including eddie). This was exemplafied when one even said, talking about the ball going out of bounds on the full and players claiming it to be touched..."and hopefully [we] can get a free kick"...
Maybe it's the isolation out there in the west...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Can't do much about the faces of the goal umps, but if you don't like the commentary, use the MUTE button!!!

Commentary is biased in every state, including Sydney. The WA and SA commentaries just sound worse because they neither know nor care about the Swans at all.

Best get used to it, because it's going to get worse.

I thought the commentary was OK. In the first half they were critical of Freo up until 15 minute mark of second quarter.

I thought they were biased too. Of course it was Foxtel coverage with local commentators, so it is the bottom of the barrel. At least it was in focus this week, against Carlton the cameraman kept losing the ball and the players were blurry.

                      and the players were blurry
On the other side of the ground where the cameras were obviously limited it looked like a set of the beer goggles off the simpsons were placed over your eyes, it was pathetic, no excuses for that.
Fox Footy have some decent commentators eg: Steven Quartermain and Huddo. There are just are few poor ones eg: Dean Kemp (they must have ben desperate) and whoever the other guy was with him, i cant remember the name but he did all the 1/2 time stuff in the CCP role

                        Irish mark

Remember the fumbling mark by Irish when he went forward. Good grab in the end but the commentaters kept saying he dropped it. There was no replay to prove them wrong so they carried on for a while as if it was them not Freo being robbed.
IMO Tadgh took a good mark and has looked threatening before up forward, more so than some of the regulars we play up there.

Yeah, i thought he had taken it second grab above the ground and the commentators immediately assumed it was a drop and seemed happy when the umpire slapped the post. They just seemed more excited when freo were doing well

They work for Ch10 and Huddo if he calls a Fox Footy Game its on the Sunday Afternoon.

Matthew Campbell has to be the worst caller in the business, he hardly knows what he is talking about - been in Brisbane TOO long. Tim Gossage is OK, but being from WA meant he was very biased - I would like to see him call a non WA match say Collingwood vs Brisbane. Kemp was crap.

The commentary was a disgrace. Whenever the Swans did well (infrequently I know) the commentators lacked interest until Freo provided a great piece of defensive work.

One of my favourites was when the ball went out of bounds and Freo grabbed it and kicked a goal. From the reverse angle it was clearly out, but Kemp just laughed and said it was well kept in.

Some of the worst commentary I have ever heard, and people complain about Eddie.
