    Should Swans chase available Spriggs?

    Geelong has axed David Spriggs after failing to organise a post-season trade for the pacy midfielder.

    The Cats today also promoted Shannon Byrnes to the senior list while cutting Daniel Foster plus rookies James Allan and Jeff Smith.

    Geelong had told Spriggs before the trading period that it would try to swap him to another AFL club, but did not muster enough interest at the trade table.

    Spriggs made his debut in 2000 and missed only two games in his first two seasons, finishing tenth in the 2001 best and fairest.

    But he missed the entire 2002 season after a bizarre pre-season knee injury suffered on a beach, and was never the same player again.

    Although he did play in the qualifying final against Port Adelaide this year, he only took part in five matches.

      From the games I saw, and from what I recall, Spriggs was very very ordinary.
      Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

                  Spriggs is useless, as he couldn't hit a silo from 5 metres away and doesn't know what a hard ball get is....

                          can't hit a target and was horrible in the Port final.
