    Journos

Do the Journos look at these fan sites for some of their info? I was just wondering cos James McSmith the new AFL writer for the Sunday Herald in Syd (and thank God there is finally one) talked about that Craig Stafford thing on Ebay and i dont think a journo would spend his time on an auction site. Do the Journos regularly use these as a source of info?
    eg "the fans say...."

RWO has been mentioned in the Daily Tele, SMH and H-S since I've been on the site. The url isn't always mentioned (grrr....), but it's easy to tell when they are talking about us.

I noticed it too and had the same thought.

I suspect that they do. Stuff has been quoted from here in the past. And radio journos have contacted me last year looking for a comment, at the time, they could only have found out about me and my interest from the swans from here ....

But I don't know for sure.

          Pardon?

If I've ever said the same thing on bigfooty as you did on here (I don't remember doing it, but what the hell, I probably did considering you post some good stuff), it's only because I agreed with you! Is that a crime? Unbelievable... now I can't have the same opinion as someone without having SOMEONE taking issue with it...

Geez... you've still got a chip on your shoulder, have you?

nah man, im fine with it now

but during our little debate, i found one of my comments used by u on bigfooty but u had twisted it around to suit your own agenda, that annoyed me a little... (ie the analogy that i used with america and collingwood, u then used it for iraq and collingwood)

              That! Ha ha!

That's definately only subconscious plagiarism then! I only posted that as a little joke to describe my feelings for McGuire... no seriousness intended, and I definitely wasn't thinking about anything on RWO... although, yeah, maybe subconsciously that was the inspiration. I dunno!

LOL... I just looked at that post of yours... you're right. Very much the same. My apologies... I honestly wasn't thinking of your post when I posted mine...

well u can obviously see the basis behind my call, ie the 4th post in this thread... im a reader of bigfooty and not a poster, i just cant be bothered with some of those trolls... BTW id like someone to point out that the member of bigfooty Chris_Judd is named after the spiteful little bitch that is J Lo's ex husband and not the one that wears no 3 for WC

In that column in the S-H, he suggested that Saddington would become one of the most popular sporting figures in Sydney if he plays on Wayne Carey next week

But is WC injured? I heard on Sports Tonight something about him being a spectator next week...I think a few people on this board will be disappointed about not getting to boo him

I would be shattered if Carey wasnt playing. The reception he gets will be great. He will cop it non stop. He claims to not cop much sledging when on the couch on Fox Footy, but those blokes on the couch are so leanient on him, ecspecially last year when they were going to roast him but they never did. Fox seem to love him but the clash in round 6 will be the clash of the year

Carey really seems to cop it big time from the swans fans.
I remember on a couple of occasions where he has kicked a goal from the goal square and really gave back the crowd the same medicine shouting every rude word under the sun at the crowd at the top of his voice.
No other crowds seems to rub him the way that the sydney crowd do.
                      Well done guys!

My fav memory of Carey was at the SCG when Plugger gave Carey a nudge and he ran out towards the fence and a fan from the boundary got right in his face screaming something crude at him. It was great to see his ego drop in an instant. The Swans went on to win I think. That sticks out for me, he has always copped it up here for some reason

also carey according to ayers looked very proppy and was dragged coz he was unfit, carey had told ayers he was right but ayers took the executive decision and pulled him off the ground early

my mum when finding out that that was the case, (carey not playing) she was very relieved as this would mean that she wouldnt have to worry about me getting a lifetime ban from the scg...

As much as Carey returning to the SCG will rekindle some fond, yet spiteful memories of his past outings, I for one will feel better thinking that he ISN'T playing for the Crows next week (if he is actually injured). A bloke like that will really give our current defense the willies.
