what will your reaction be ?

    I am just curious,
If the worst should happen and the Swans continue on their way of only making the finals or worse just missing out.
IE If we tread water !
And if they should go on being a good team- but not a great team who at least makes the grand final for the next 5 years. How will you see the team under the current regime ?
When will you start to demand more, than just mediocrity ? At what piont will your patience run out ? 4 years ? 5 years ? 8 years ? Ten years?
I would respectfully suggest that we all brace ourselves for a long and arduous journey into the lower to middle echelons of the AFL's final 8.
If this happens how will you react ? mmm... I think it may well be buisness as usual around here.

This is the real test this year. If we don't make the top four or get to the preliminaries, we may have to look at a significant rebuild. Usual disclaimers may apply, eg a run of injuries like last year.

Goodes, Davis, Saddington, LRT, Schneider, Fosdike, Doyle and O'loughlin will be under a lot of pressure to perform and/or remain fit this year.

i think we definitely can go all the way this year. as usual and as for every team, things have to fall in place and a few things go our way.

And what will your reaction be ? Besides posting on this board, what is it that you are going to do ?

I think the reaction will be the same as we see every few years. Some people will complain about the continued underperformance of the team. Others will then complain about those originally complaining and say you shouldn't be supporting this team then and they are doing their best and 'they can only get better' etc etc.

I won't do anything - I am used to it. Like most Swans supporters I will continue to live in hope.

And then there are the majority of Swans fans who just enjoy watching the Swans play football . . . . and don't give a rats' arse about a handful of whingers (realists?).

Speaking personally, I'm happy if the Swans play attractive football and win more than they lose. My future happiness doesn't depend on them winning a flag. Nor am I particularly impatient for it to happen.

I thought we were overachieving the last few years!!!

We have been achieving better than the early 90's, and for those that have supported the swans since those days, anything better than last is a good achievement.

If we do not make the prelims this year I might rip up my membership and wait till the renewal for next year comes!!!!!

I will launch a pre-emptive strike against the Swans offices in Sydney and Melbourne and place an interim coach, ceo and captain in charge until we have won the premiership. That will be my reaction.

i will get on the roids so i can tear up my membership, then, driven by my roid induced rage i will beat up an innocent bystander who is not clad completely in red and white, pedestrians and supermarket shoppers you are not safe!

possibly i will set alight some effigies of Paul roos, before putting them out by spitting on them. then and only then i will come on here complaining about how s#*t we are, and how we should get riewoldt, black, pavlich, hayes, judd and a few more KPPs.we should also draft all tall promising players, especially ones who are quick, can mark kick and tackle.

i will make sure my spelling and punctuation are horrendous (this will show how i'm so f&^n angry i can't even type) i will organise for the lads to take a banner "swans you suck"

                  then everything will change.......

Pretty much agree with that, although above "attractive" I ask that they play committed football and strive to be the best that they can with what's available to them at any time.
