    sundqvist - pressure

IMO the club must really rate sundqvist - i mean they have stuck with him ahead of thewlis who played 2-3 games in his second year and showed no signs of injury problems - more so, thewlis looked like a good size for afl football - I really feel that the pressure is going to be on next year for a few guys, I think if we have another mediocre year, we could see and richmond like cull of players. As well as mass retirements.

BAck to the post though, I think there is no doubt that we will redraft thewlis. roos said all along that we wanted experience players in the draft because we had drafted alot of young players. Well not only did we not get any expereinced players, (except for jolly?) but we went and delisted one of our youngest players.

I think the club was very happy with the redrafting of buchannan and will do it agian with thewlis.

Depends on whether the club thinks there isn't a better option available in the draft, as to whether Thewlis gets redrafted or not. I far as I know the club hasn't said a thing about redrafting him, let alone because it worked well with Buchanan.

However make no mistake take Thewlis will be a Swans next season, be it on the senior list or the rookie list. I rather the rookie list.

If Thewlis does not get redrafted by the club he will not be at Sydney next year on their rookie list. I can guarantee that.

Eh? How can you guarantee that?

I'm not sure if this is possible as we may be able to list him as a pre-draft selection as a NSW player as he has been with the Swans for 2 years

I could be wrong on this but i though when we re-drafted one of James, Bennet or Brockman back on to the rookie list we used this little trick

Anyone feel free to correct me on this point

I really doubt it, but then again I get confussed about the rookie list rules as it is.

Nope with James we picked him up late, because no one would touch him or his injuries at the time. Plus he made it clear he wanted to stay at the Swans

Again I might be wrong on the rule, so feel free to correct me.

I think it was Bennett that they used this ploy on.

While that suggests its within the rules, its not really in the spirit of what the rookie concessions are there for - ie to encourage the Swans (and Lions) to give a chance to locals who they may not otherwise choose.

Both Thewlis and James were asked to train pre season.

I thought Thewlis looked pretty good good size about him as well I will be suprised if we dont pick him back up

                          Cheers
