    andos phantom draft

    just a question for ando. A player frpm Murry Bushrangers
    M Drum not on your list.any reasons?Noted as one of the
    better U18s going around earlier in year and a definite draft
    prospect.

      No reason

      Too many players not enough spaces, though things will change in the next week. Check back next Friday for my final update.

          Spoke to a bloke yesterday who's son is on the recruiting panel of an AFL club.

          On the point of players with developed bodies being passed up for more "potentialled kids" as discussed on this post and adnausium over the past year. The chap I was talking to is right up with the scoops on many of the juniors in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. When asked about Josh Wilson from Eastern Ranges he rang his son, on the spot, who replied, straight from memory.

          5 foot 10 inches is his drawback, but against that is very strong overhead.
          Pace is questionable, but not necessarily a problem, depending on what a particular club is looking for.
          Last 10 weeks of the season were exceptional. One of those that came out of nowhere.
          HAS THE BODY OF A 21 YEAR OLD.
          The type of player clubs are now looking at, to pick up late in the draft.
          A genuine Rookie List chance.
          Expect some smokies to come out.

          What got me is the "off the top of the head" knowledge these clubs have. We read in the papers is about the top 20 picks, but this bloke reckons his son talks to and looks at an incredible number of prospects and has an amazing memory bank.

          With the snippets of info in the press it appears they now reckon it is a very even draft of quality yet a few weeks ago that "great" footy journo Jackie Epstein trotted out the hackneyed "it is a skinny draft".

              I believe that he is too young for this years draft and did not apply for an exemption
