Rd 8 Sydney v Port Adelaide

    May 15

As this is a long weekend in S.A, we are expecting alot of Power fans making the trip over. As I live in Adelaide, I have no idea what else is on that weekend in Sydney. Last time we played at the SCG (who could forget that ) alot of us went to a Rugby League international between the Aussies and Great Britain on the Friday night I think. Does anyone know what other sporting events are on that weekend?

Looking forward to catching up with all my swans mates, got so much to brag about he he

Also looks like we are in Melbourne on the same weekend in rounds 14, 16 and 19.

NSW Waratahs play Auckland Blues on the Friday night in the last Super 12 round before the semis.

Rugby League games on that weekend are:

    Bulldogs v Sea Eagles
    Cowboys v Broncos
    Dragons v Panthers
    Knights v Wests Tigers
    Rabbitohs v Storm
    Raiders v Sharks
    Warriors v Roosters
    Eels v BYE

which means there probably won't be too many in Sydney that weekend.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

With the league they only allocate timeslots to games about 5 weeks in advance based on TV - before then, the games are just put down as being sometime in that round. So it will be early April before you will know which games are actually options to go to.

As a huge rugby league follower, its very fustrating for me,if say i want to go to Melbourne or Brisbane to watch my team(roosters)play the Storm or Broncos, and plan a trip!I know the round and weekend but not the day! However the beauty of the AFL is that i know what day, time and round if i wanted to plan an away trip interstate.I know well in advance!
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

Your determination, your tenacity and your under-rated skill is why you have become my favourite player!

If you are asking me yes, but it does get hard when your wife and two boys all want to come along. Been to the SCG our last two games, for 1 win and 1 loss. Next season we have booked out flights to Perth for Easter, we be heading to Sydney and all the Melbourne games. So I will miss Brisbane, Canberra, 1 Perth game and Launceston.

Hissssss. Don't you Port supporters ever get sick of bragging? Year after year after year in the SANFL and now you're threatening to do the same in the AFL. Urrggghh. My mantra in 2005 will be "Anyone but Port".

Oi Shane, this one is ex Glenelg Cheer Squad. Should have warned you about her.

Still you might find people's reaction to Port these days is somewhat different to what it was last season. Gone is the sympathy. Gone is the interstate brotherhood, my friend. You guys are now the HUNTED! And every week people will be wanting to lift their game to beat the premiers.

Are Port1978 and Swans63 coming over from Perth as they said they would?

The Undertaker is the leader of the Roosters' Chook Pen. If anything else a night with them is pretty fun.

                        So Ive noticed
Still..plenty of crowies and Eddiewood fans to pay out, Im not going to come here and say how good we are, all I know is it's sending me broke

Being the hunted, we wouldn't want it any other way.
After two years away from Sydney Im just glad we are going back.
                        See you all soon

Depends on how the Eagles are going Shane. I'm expecting them to improve again now that they are privately owned and cashed up. but whether they will get the Friday night slot is of course only known a few weeks before.

I used to slag out the League for worrying about TV Ratings more than loyal fans. But we saw the AFL cave in to Channel' 10s desire for more TV viewers by having 2 Friday night finals, this making it near impossible for travelling fans to attend. The AFL in finals time is no better than the leaguies.

Hopefully the Bulldogs game will be at Telstra Stadium and not the Showgrounds. The latter arena would have to be the worst stadium in the country. Robbie and I watched a Bulldogs match there 2 years ago. It was very very crap. You are MILES away from the action. And there are temporary seats on the hill where everyone stomp their feet.

I propose a contest - to come up with an appropriate collective noun for a group of Port supporters. Please do not be polite. I propose a 'scum' of Port supporters.
