    M.A. Noble Stand

question for BBB or whoever may know

membership package now states "access to M.A.Noble dining room prior to game"

    few things;

Has it always been possible to go there prematch for dinner or is this new ?

Is it worth a visit ?

Will i be able to wear my leather jacket and nice scarf or do the usual dress regulations apply ?

I believe all members were able to access this last season. It was one of the things advertised in the weekly emails they sent during the season.

I didn't realise I had any online photos. One must have slipped through the net with me unawares.

You had me confused there - then realised that you meant Sloanes with a capital S. A sloane is also a slightly derogatory term for upper class Engleesh girls who hang around in Chelsea and South Kensington and talk very posh. I am not a sloane!!!

And yes, I am partial to a spot of brunch there before games, although last season I mostly traded that in for watching the reserves play. I think I only went once, before the Saints game, because I was meeting up with a friend who just happens to be a Sainter.

I've not been to the MA Noble.

Access to the MA Noble pre match is for full club members. A good lurk would be to buy a full club membership for the public area at $245, use the badge to get into the SCG members for pre match eats and simply stay, thereby saving $35 over members who pay $280 for full club member, members reserve.

On whether the access to the meal facilities is worth it, unless you have a gold lined wallet I wouldn?t bother. The meals are pretty expensive. I tend to do the reverse: arrive at about ? time in the magoos, plonk my sicker on my favourite seat in the MA Noble then go and find out who is playing well from the two lovely ladies in bay 29, and on to say hi to JF & co in the CS.

Benefit of the Noble stand is the great view and if you are feeling rich you can buy crownies, also the most friendly place for nicotine addicts like me as we can go to the balcony behind the top bar.

If you are wearing a tee shirt or footy jumper, you will need a coat, otherwise the goons won?t let you in under the collared shirt rule.

Thanks for that, already full club member etc, just never realised about dining room, live in my own world most of the time.

Just that whenever i go to melb for games always get invited to mcg or teltra dome dining rooms by other teams so would be nice to reciprocate if the food was half decent

                  Thanks again

Yes, the fashion police would definitely approve, dear chap!

But does the bar sell Kirin Lager or Asahi Beer?

we had trouble just getting in to the members entrance with one not wearing a collar. then i gave him my collared jacket and wore my swans top, (advice from the "i don't make the rules mate" SCG staffie) and this was apparently alright. Is the bar different? i've always gone there before and during the games, never after.

I think you all better check your membership renewal book.

If you are a full club member with a reserved concourse or stand seat then you have access to the MA Noble for Pre Match.

If you buy a Members Reserve you already sit in the noble or ladies so have access to the Dining Room anyway.

Full Club Members who purchase into the Public Area do not have access to the MA Noble.

The SCG Staff were checking passes last season, and i am sure they will do it again in 2005, so i think your suggestion is a silly one as you wont get through.

As far as the rediculous collar shirt rule, I pack a shirt to throw over the jersey as I enter the gate, but somehow the shirt is always back in my bag between the gate and my seat and I have never had an issue. Of course they could start getting a bit more serious about it next year.

Swans football guernseys are OK to wear - the only non collar item that they will allow. They can be real arses about t-shirts.

The dining room isnt worth bothering with - overpriced somewhat ordinary food and not much atmosphere. A few years ago it was very popular but has really died the last couple of seasons.
