Dunno what to make of this really. I doubt he will ever be the 'gun' midfielder we are after. We have enough average midfielders in our side already, thanks very much. I'd rather re-draft Thewlis.

hmmmm i dunno spriggs has some skills ,.....but basically just runs fast
the bit about james seems to indicate spriggs would take his spot and james wont be re draftedTheres not much left to say -
The Swans, who have made no secret of their desire to recruit another experienced midfielder after delisting Heath James
I think Stephen Rielly and Karen Lyon have got their wires crossed because not only is James a key position player, but we have not expressed a desire to recruit an experienced midfielder via the draft, more like a key position player.
Really when Caro Wilson is the editor I should expect this sort of crap. Yet again The Age proves what a poor publication it is sports wise.Once was, now elsewhereComment

carro wilson is the editor??? christ!!
the more i think about it the more i hope we dont go for spriggs i cant see any good comming out of it.
I must be tired didnt even think about the fact james isnt a midfielderTheres not much left to sayComment

Maybe what they meant was by delisting James it freed up a position to draft a seasoned midfielder. Caro is not the greatest on footy knowledge but her stories on the political side of football are second to none. I think The Age has some very good journos to provide the footy stories i.e. Reilly and Niall. I notice they're usually more accurate than the Herald Sun. Greg Baum is a top writer on cricket, also syndicate Roebuck. And while Heath James is more of a key position build I don't think he really had the credentials to play in that role either. I think he's caught betixt and between somewhat hence his difficulty in getting a regular game, injury aside. Spriggs has skill deficiencies but can run all day. I have heard him interviewed several times and he's very keen to give it another go. His looks may help the marketing department (lol)LIFE GOES ONComment

He's still young, and still getting over a knee, ...and Geelong have a very strong midfield, so no shame in missing a spot there.
Go for it.Comment

I sure hope this is a rumour. We don't need another runner-midfielder type with suspect ball-delivery skills. We need a classy player who can direct play and organise better delivery into the forward line.Comment

It could work out for us, but it could be a complete flop.
The same as every pick you make in the draft.
I'd prefer we didn't take him, but if we do, I won't be disapointed.Comment

Spriggs
My mate down at the Cattery reckons Spriggs is on his way to the Swans - he's been talking to them over the last few days sorting out the finer details.....Regards,
