I have been involved in footy tipping for 7 years. And not once have I tipped against Sydney........ Until now......This week......After seeing Sydney at Subi on Saturday I will be tipping the Crows...if my heart lets me. From there performance on Saturday nite Id say a fairer contest would be Fitzroy vs Sydney. They were bloody hopeless. I was almost prepared to run onto the ground and ask Kelly and S.Tingay to change their runners outfit and get onto the ground. That is what Sydney lacked on Saturday.....

      HEART.

But it can not be attributed to Maxfield. In the last quarter he did one AWESOME bit of showing his heart. ABsolutely crumped a Freo Dorker then smothered the ball. It at least gave me something to smile about. I was actually suprised bloody Conolly didnt run onto the ground crying that one of his players got tackled!!!!

Mase, finals are all that count. As for the crows they can handle themselves at the SCG just like the bullies and the lions. However the crows are grossly overrated so I do give us some hope this week.Has anyone any news on Fitzgerald the second,oh i mean Doyle?

In todays Herald Hun the injury list for the club was smaller than a week ago.

Magic, Fixter, Bolton will all be tested

Seymour is 2 weeks away, Buchanan and Cresswell are 3 weeks away.

            But Doyle is out indefinitely.

So its getting better on the injury front, but lets hope it doesn't get worse in the next few weeks
            Once was, now elsewhere

I think it will be a high scoring game with both teams scoring over 100-110 points each, and if it comes down to a shootout I would give us half a chance.
But these days it is usually a battle of the midfields primarily and I wouldnt give us a chance against their midfield.
I think it might be a game where we play "attractive , exiciting football" but dont get the 4 points in my opinion.

We could be a outside chance as they have a few injuries too. At least I hope we kick >15 goals and show a bit of the form we had against Carlton.

BTW Was anyone promoted from the rookie list for Doyle?

We would have to be practising our finishing in front of goal to have any chance as it was very ordinary against Freo and IMO was the major reason we lost last week.

It will indeed be sad if Carey doesn't play...I was looking forward to joining in the Carey chorus out there in front of the O'Reilley stand....
As to outcome...if we play like we have done for MOST of the past half dozen games, we are in with a good chance...if the bad swans turn up again like they did at freo, then we could be in for a real Carlton/Kangarooesque belting. We have absolutely nothing to compare with the toughness of Roo or the sheer class of McLeod...chrissake if Hasselby can get 40 posessions in the centre...McLeod playing in the centre could end up with leather poisoning. Maybe we should play captain kirk on him, he was one of my best men for the freo game for cutting a superstar right out of the game.
But hey, I'm taking my Crows scarf with me, just in case...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Must admit that I was even more pessimistic than usual about the Crows game.

But now that both Burton and Carey are out injured, and Stevens is doubtful, they are going to have to rely on Perrie and Burns to kick their goals.

And with O'Loughlin and Seymour due to return, the Swans suddenly look a lot stronger.

                        Could it be possible . . . . ?

My feelings exactly. Only the problem from last week won't be solved with a forward and a back it was the bit in between. Unless they give Magic a run on the ball. Lack of match fitness may see play up forward though.

Yeh even though we have one of the best forward lines in the comp, it has to get down there first and we will be hard against doing that against adelaide as they can do. Their midfielders can effectively turn their no name forwards into a hall or lloyd if you know what I mean.

This is my greatest worry too. Let's not forget names like Mark Ricciuto or Andrew Mcleod, eh folks?

Hard game for the swans considering we are playing a midfield which is light years ahead of ours but if we recover the fourm from the Carlton game and kirk/crouch is able to hold Mcleod we could give these guys a scare

Also factor in the return hopefully of a few of our better players and there injurys and it dose help I also believe that the loss of Johnson hurts them in the middle a bit

One down side is the crows acquisition of Torney(who i rate as one of the best small/mid sized defenders in the comp) and Bassett although not a star he gives them more flexablity and the ablillity to move Hart and Smart around the back half more.
