Reference from BigFooty, where I do my best work, as I generally prefer the rough-and-tumble that only opposition supporters can supply (ie getting stuck into, extracting the urine from). There are some good opposition opinions there that I value, even if I disagree.
I come back here to get some considered Swans-specific opinions and comment. And there are less out and out idiots here - although the pseudo-Swan supporter Footyhead (aka bloodsports) is the exception that proves the rule.Insert Your Life [HERE]Comment

Back in late 1995 I joined an AFL supporters site, in early 96 there were three people on it, myself, Paul G from Sydney, and Anniswan, I met them both through the 96 season.
Then Ann started the Yahoo mailing list and we started to meet Swans fans from all over the place, and the first pizza night was held in Lygon street after a Melbourne game at the MCG. When the first RWO started up I really didn't like the message board, I much prefered the mailing list where the messages came to me. I used to just read the stories at RWO. Then when the Yahoo list started to die I decided it was time to use this message board, and now I find I just have to check here every day, I don't want to miss anything or be the last to know!
I've met so me great people through the Yahoo list and this message board and made some wonderful friends too.
So the real reason I come here is for the social aspect!CHER - Who has two types of blood cells "RED ones and WHITE ones"Comment

GRANT, installed my Optus cable internet. We got talking and realised we were both Swans supporters. The rest is history and I can proudly say I have been told I am a fruitcake and moron and to nick off amongst other things.
Without RWO I would know little about what goes on at the club, so I guess the occasional barbs just go with the territory.Comment

Because I'm addicted to every thing Swans and no matter in which part of Tasmania I work, I'm always the only Swans supporter. God I hate those smug Essendon supporters as they high five each other."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

Was introduced to the Yahoo mailing list in late 2000 by JF and when Des and Steve started up the rivals.net site (from which this site developed), I crossed over to the message board and the rest is history. Like many others I got involved in the mailing list because I wanted more Swans news than I was getting though the Victorian papers and the opinions of fellow Swans fans.Once was, now elsewhereComment

Stumbled across Cher's personal website where she had a link to Ann's list. Met Cher when she was up here for a game in 99, then met Ann and a few others the following week at a game in Melbourne. Got involved in the rivals.net site and have tagged along ever since.
Made quite a few new friends out of it all as well!

First stumbled across RWO when looking for info on Tadhg a while ago (when I was more of a Tadhg fan then a Swans fan), but then started to post when I realised half of my family and friends were avoiding me because I was driving them mad with Swans talk. I thought I'd better try and find another place to talk. Though I've since discovered that I have very little to add to discussions about actual football, so must restrict myself to writing about Haikus and the like.
Also, like many other Sydneysiders, I find it really hard to get some good footy chat around the place. There aren't many fans of footy in general, much less the Swans, in my circle of acquaintances, so it's good to get to talk to other fans.
Plus I get to meet some lovely (and some not-quite-so-lovely) people. Might make next season feel a little more community like.

A Melbourne friend told me about the original rivals site had a look but didn't register. Popped in every now and then to have a look. Ended up not liking some comments about something so I decided it was time to join and post.
Have made some very good friends on here too.
It's just a bit of fun and informative too.
