Swans: Kick to kick at SCG at last

As a welcome back to the SCG for the 2003 season the QBE Sydney Swans and Sydney Cricket Ground Trust are inviting all patrons to join in the festivities with the traditional kick-to-kick on the ground following Sunday's game against Adelaide.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I did notice the poll on the swans site was asking if you had been onto the SCG itself. This must have eventuated from the result.

sorry, I was speechless for a minute

I've walked onto the SCG just once - I helped with the banner before a Sydney v Bulldogs game (IIRc it was the first dogs "home" game here)

Gobsmacked. About bloody time as well. I know one bloke will be pleased, he walks with a Sth Melb shirt and a sign on the back saying "Why cant Sydney kids have a kick?"
A good move SCG Trust. Maybe some people not on pensions got on the board and decided it, cos its just old blokes with traditional ties

holy ****! who had the brain explosion that let that one go thru?! The last time i was on the SCG during a kick to kick was probably 1994/5. it's been a long time between kicks!

The only two times I've been on the SCG was once at one of those open training sessions/night for the fans thingy, and the other when I ran on after Plugger kicked his 1300th.

By the wording Troy used of "As a welcome back" I get the distinct feeling this is a one-off. I hope that I'll be proved wrong!

                I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Im lucky enough that when i was living in sydney i got to grace the SCG turf on numerous occasions, this was back in the early nineties, through after the game kick to kick and also some through some representitive football with various teams.
Glad to see it back albiet not sure for how long - lap it up sydney siders!

As I said a couple a weeks ago, it made a nonsense of ordeing those little tackers off the ground at the Richmond practice match, then having 20,000 sprinsteen concert goers churning up the turf the next saty. This is indeed good for all kids, big and small. As 4 being on SCG turf...only twice myself....Eagles (concert, not the West Coast kind) and for the Boss...I passed on Streisand...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
